Dingwall Owners Club

Some of the recent discussion around using Dingwalls for non-metal genres caught my eye. I put together a quick bass cover of Michael McDonald - I Keep Forgettin'. It makes a great demo to drive this point home and made for some great bonding time with my new 4-string color-shift ABZ.

Bonus points if you notice the other 2 Dingwalls in the rack. :bassist:

Smooth playing. Nice tone.
I’d like to see more of that other AB2(I think that’s what I see on my phone screen) you got

Mission accomplished this eve. I’m sure glad I opted to do this.
The process was not too difficult but one note to make for others interested is that the pot shaft on the 6 way is larger then factory switches so reaming the knob shaft is required but being soft brass it’s a pretty easy operation.
Mo’s wiring diagram makes it really easy

It’s a little orange monster stuffed in there but there’s wiggle room.

So glad to see and hear this, I have an AB1 5 string for about a year and a half now and since buying it, it is practically the only bass I’ve played since then. It really fits so many more genres then the one that gets featured way too much. Well done sir.

I wonder if or how the neck profiles have changed over the years. I believe a 6 string with the neck profile of the Z's now would be a wonderful feel for me - more agreeable than my AB1 6'er. $3500 USD is actually really flippin' tempting.

I don't know about this one, but my Voodoo Prima has a very different neck profile than my Z. The VP is much thicker and a rounded profile.

Rumours say that there is a thing called the "bridge pickup" that is also supposed to make sounds :bag:

I think it only knows how to do backing vocals though. Heheh

Just because of you uncultured lot ;), I'm playing our next gig (next Thursday) using ONLY the bridge pickup AND playing close to the bridge. Gots to show the love. #JBassRedeemed

saw that. Great opportunity for someone to get something similar to Z series in 4 string. I don’t know which one I’d want more!
