Thanks for the feedback, guys! I feel much more comfortable going with wenge. 
I’ve been convinced enough with my NG3-6 that I’m planning to sell both my Strandberg Prog 5 and Sadowsky WL-5 (both of which I love) to fund the Z3-6. As much as I love them, the NG gives me everything I could get out of those, or close enough, that I doubt I’ll be giving them much playing time in the foreseeable future. The Dingy’s B just stomps all over them, so I’ll never choose those over the NG when I need the B, and I’ve still got my Fender J and P 4-bangers when I need something old school.
Now the hard part is hammering out which top wood and finish to go with. Ergh!
