AFAIK, it and a companion with the same wenge top design (I think 4 string) sold from the original owner recently, then this one is now for sale again. I’m somewhat curious what the older preamp and pickups sound like.

Pretty close I think. Sold as part of the estate.
4 string was still recently for sale on reverb. Perhaps SOTGRich bought it from reverb and now is selling it. He also just had a killer Droc for sale.
I don’t think there are any red flags going for this. Just a guy who couldn’t resist(god I’ve wobbled on it for sure). and now is like, “ man, a few of these probably need to go” (Wobbliing here too)
I am wanting to mod my ng3 5er for a big 0.170 F#.
Simple question… when widening the string slots in the nut, do we keep the same mathmatical centres across the fingerboard? Any advice, other changes. Trying to figure if i can do this diy, or should send it off (to someone who will have probably never done this to a bass with a 0.170)

You can, and that would be the easiest way to DIY it. But there are people who prefer uniform spacing between the edges of strings over uniform spacing between the centers, and the difference between the two becomes much more noticeable when dealing with extra-thick strings.
For sure. That is what i was getting at. How does that effect intonation? I assume the angles of the fan fret system were designed specifically for a set string spacing? I.e. even spacing from the mathmatical centre of the strings. I know shifting a string to the treble side shortens the scale. Is tuning/intonation independent and always correct wherever i place a string laterally on the board? I assume so.
I would prefer an even spacing. I need to measure and diagram it all out to see if i can repurpose what i have, vs replacing the nut (would prefer to avoid).
Does dingwall sell pre-cut f# nuts? How do they space it?
I have an NG-3 with the D-Roc switch, and I'd like to have the bridge+middle in series and bridge + neck in parallel configurations.
My first idea was to get a 3rd-party 6-way switch, but those are very difficult to get in Germany. Is it possible to rewire the current switch, or do I need to buy an alternative?

The negative messages are already out there - so Skip needs to take affirmative and proactive steps to counteract them.
Here are a few suggestions:
1) Add logic to his ordering portal that says, UP FRONT, "currently shipping string orders placed ## days ago" so that people have a realistic expectation of lead-time (check the Speaker Hardware site for an example)
2) Add a threshold to the site, so that new orders are blocked once the backlog gets too large (that would also give Skip a concrete demand/volume against which he could make informed hiring decisions).
3) The product has never been in question, the business consistently has. Skip needs to bring someone on board to handle the business side of things so he can focus on building and creating. Maybe THAT person can implement #1 and #2...
If he took care of his current wait list, then implemented a couple of those steps, I'd be in line to give him another shot - because my Dingwall really likes his strings.

It would be very difficult to alter the existing switch. Your best bet is to change the switch to the regular 3X rotary. I believe Bass Direct in the UK has them, which should make it easier to obtain. Your only option is the 6 way switch, you can order them from a number of places.
Pretty sure you could get a 6-way shipped to you.
I am not ate-up yet with the idea or need but I am pretty sure that I will eventually get a 6-way and series/parallel switches for my 3X. (I typically can't help myself in regards to doing things like this)

Works with Carey Nordstrand and dies his own stuff. He’s built multiple switches for club members with custom settings including myself.

I put 6 way switches in my Z3-6 and NG3-6. Love all the settings. I ordered stock ones from Jason at Fret Nation. The problem with these for you is there is no middle solo’d.
The settings are: 1) bridge 2) bridge + middle parallel 3) bridge + middle series 4) bridge + neck 5) neck 6) all 3. As Nate mentioned Mo at Carey Nordstrand’s shop can do custom setting that will meet your needs.

Good afternoon, guys. I scored a nice used NG3, yesterday and have a quick question while it’s in transit. Anybody out there have a Hipshot extender (for drop A) on their bass with smoked chrome hardware? Looks like they don’t make them in that color, so just wanted to see what others have done.
These are the settings I went with in mine.
