Yes. Oddly it seems held in higher regard by the western provinces as it is a holiday out here vs the eastFunny, is nov 11th celebrated in canada ? I thought france was the only county which did.

It's actually called reach REDUCER, because it moves the nut closer to your body, hence, reducing how far you have to reach for it.

Yeah, the heavy-handed policies around editing here are kind of ridiculous. Of all the forums I participate on, this is the only one with a rule like that.

Well gigged the D-roc 5 string last night.
Was actually it's 2nd outing ( but I wasn't fully comfortable with at the last one so classing this as it's "proper" first ) at a local pub that we play fairly regularly.
Now that I'm settled with the fan-frets I could actually relax, enjoy playing and truly appreciate the feel & sound of this lovely instrument.
I'm actually moving round the board more easily than a parallel fret bass.
In 30 years of playing I've never had as many comments on how punchy & clear the bass sound in the mix, or as many folk at half time/end of the show asking if they can have a look at the instrument.
On to the next.........

That’s cool. I have been mulling around a D-Roc 4 as a mod platform. I have an ACG East filter-based preamp. I have been wondering if those were going to move production to Korea/update the bridge (to a four string version of the D-Roc 5).
I would hate for that to happen right after I break down and buy one.
The other part of my brain says slap that pre into my Stradi Fretless and just commission the Super PJ I want.

Id resemble your sentiment I think. I’d move on from it quick but I still think I’d be flattered and irked
It’s an odd sales technique regardless. If they’re an authorized Dingwall dealer they’ll have the ability to do any custom order. Why pigeon hole potential customers? Just to get something up on Reverb? I feel like anybody willing to commission a custom build is going to do it through different channels than Reverb.
I can respect how you feel about this. I don't mind asking them to change it. As these are custom basses, the word "copy" is the first thing I'd address. Is there anything else that would make ads like this more acceptable?

Perhaps using a variety of your custom build photos used from the website show casing the options vs honing in on one persons vision would make it less personal I think
Wow. Every time you reply to something I write, I'm still blown away that you'd take time out for something so petty and insignificant!
Like my friend @silky smoove wrote - it's a custom bass, so, anyone can get anything they want. Mine is an obvious derivative of Bloodmoon Burst itself, and that bass was referenced a lot in conversations with Billy.
It's hard to pin down what bothers me about it. I think seeing my new one, barely in my hands a month, and seeing an ad for a carbon copy of it was very off-putting. Of course if someone puts up the money and says that's what they want, they get it, as that's the life of custom basses
. I really didn't expect or intend for you to get in the middle of it - I know I'm being a bit petty and selfish with this. I appreciate you and your crew so much!

Well, here's my three work horses. Two Z's and a Prima Artist. I'm an incredibly lucky person, whose had innumerable helping hands my entire life, to get me where I am now. Each of these basses is deeply special to me for different reasons.
The biggie, perhaps, being the Prima Artist, which my wife bought for me as an anniversary gift. It's my "main" as well - many gigs, recordings, and just general hanging out with musicians. It's also one of the first one I hand people when they ask about "The weird frets" or "Is that a Dingwall?!".
The blue Z3, I bought from a good friend and local player. Lots of memories tied up in that one.
And of course, the newest addition. This one is the culmination of all of my playing and technical knowledge. There's still work yet to be done on it (nothing cosmetic) - a PTone is on its way to me, and eventually one or two filter preamps to be installed. Despite a "copy" possibly being crafted (zero doubt Dingwall's shop can nail this again and again - their skills are incredible), mine will be the original and will be unique. It was to be my "final" Dingwall purchase (and as an extent, my final bass instrument purchase as well), and I think that is partly why finding someone so quick to throw up a listing for a carbon copy stung.
It's been a good little bit of reflection time.

It would irk me too @Selta - sure, someone could ask for that same finish but seeing the pic used like that wouldn't feel good, especially after just getting that beauty.
What RHA III said - that Prima body does appear quite a bit smaller than the Z. Never noticed that before.
