Just popping in to confirm the combustion 5 with DG TC installed i got recently has me already looking at customs. That punch and growl… What I’ve been missing in my life! All I’ve even played it through so far is the new ampeg rocket bass 115 and it’s so nice. Turn off my compression pedal as it doesnt need it, but it takes fuzz real nice. Need to play with the OC-2 with it some more but, i suspect bombs will be dropped.

I did the same thing. Got my NG3 and about two weeks later found my Z2 which is now on its way.

I was blown away by Sklar’s tone with Toto on the tour he filled in for Mike Pocaro (RIP). Saw them live on the first show of that tour. His Dingy was KILLIN.

I had an AB1 4 string years ago and it was awesome, for some reason I sold it (like a fool).

So, fast forward till like a few weeks ago.
The NG3 shows up.
Used it on the gig(s) and had my mind rearranged about how a B string sounds.

Can’t imagine what this Z2 is gonna sound like……

I really can’t say. Most experiences of Ebony I’ve had have been piano like. Clear and defined(?)

maybe the clear upper register coincides with what you mean of high pitched?

Could be. It's always difficult to describe sound with words anyway.

Does anyone know if TI flats (JF365 set) will fit long scale Dingwalls, and if they will require anything other than trussrod and bridge adjustments (i.e. no nut filing)?

I have a set on my Fretless and did not need to adjust the nut. I actually prefer the Payson Flats which are lighter gauge and even smoother feeling than the TIs. I have Paysons on my other two ABIIs.

This green to purple burst is what I'm looking for in my ABI. Main differences for me will be a flame top and maple board with purple pearloid speedos. If my bass turns out half as good as this one, I'm going to be tickled pink.

So pleased with my D-roc Standard 5 string that I'm now thinking about getting a 4 string too ( as we play a few songs in drop D ).
The only thing is, I'm kinda holding off getting one in case Dingwall shift the 4 string production to the Korea factory and start making them with a one-piece bridge ( like the standard 5 has ).
