Dingwall Owners Club

yeah… John Fox ( JohnFoxbass) saved me a lot of time on my recent order and his service is great…

What he said! Nine months from order to my hands:

Quick quesh - the afterburner I, from 2020 that I am looking at has 5 rotary selector knobs.
It is passive and I know that it uses the volume and a tone selector as well as a pickup selector knob - what do the other 2 do, then?

Had a killer gig with my NG3. Mainly used P bass mode (neck pickup with tone rolled off 50%), angry P bass mode (same as before but with open tone and high mid boost), and j bass mode (outer pickups in parallel). Got tons of compliments on my tone (lots of musicians present) and questions about it. I had the only non fender bass in the lineup that night (7 or 8 groups). What a bass! The mmsr really makes the NG3 a jack of all trades.

Looks like you're using my favorite AccuGroove cab. What is "mmsr"?

Reserving the right to be wrong, the MMSR is the model name of the John East Preamp riding on top of the Dingwall 6 way rotary pickup selector that Lobster added as a mod.

I don’t know how a guy with lobster claws for hands can install complex electronics in a bass. Age has taught me to just simply accept that there are certain mysteries in the world that can’t be solved.
