I’ll throw out my D-Roc 5 in Ottawa and D-Roc 4 which lives in Cape Breton NS a ridiculous 1575km (about 980miles) away.

I wonder who has the furthest permanent distance between two of the Dingwalls they own.
I’ll throw out my D-Roc 5 in Ottawa and D-Roc 4 which lives in Cape Breton NS a ridiculous 1575km (about 980miles) away.
one could argue that anyone that has their two Dingwalls right next to each other takes this one. because sure if you just across you'll be able to grab it. but if you don't, you'd have to completely circumnavigate the earth to get to it.
My other 3 are all next to each other in my bass cupboard. I just have the one outlier.
About 35 miles for me, I have an Epiphone Embassy about 350 miles away

The upper bout of the basses is looking to be right in front of your sternum: As I said, no problem at all to reach those dusty ends when sitting down (or on a shorter strap).
It also proves my point about the the Roc’s cutaway being more ergonomically looking than the Bird‘s - while actually, there’s not a whole lot of difference between them.
Personally, if I feel the urge to get up there, the easiest way seems to be just dropping my fretting hand’s thumb. But I rarely need to.
I think I speak for everyone when I say: Yeah, we‘re gonna need to see some pictures. You know, for science.
As I said, the access is considerably more comfortable with the D-Roc. My hand fits in the gap and only has to angle slightly to reach the highest frets. With the bird, I have to angle my hand and fingers pretty considerably. Again, different players, different fingers. To me, the D-Roc’s cutout makes a significant difference, while to another bassist, it wouldn’t help much at all.
Wish I could tap worth a damn, it’d be a nice alternative to have in the tool box.
I finally got the invoice from customs, $550 ransom. Fingers crossed I will get my 1st Dingwall tomorrow! I wonder if it'll be the 1st one in New Zealand...

This seller had 2 of them for sale I believe. The prices are pretty nuts, in a bad way, for anyone outside NZ.

Oh my. They’re all lovely. What are the names of the colors and are they all spec'ed the same?
Observations from last night's rehearsal:
The revised sound of the bass wasn't sending such a bright signal, so I didn't have to cut highs at the amp; I ran the amp EQ flat. We record rehearsals to Studio One, and I'm really liking what I hear on last night's recording - the bass has better balance and clarity, and sits in the mix better.
All made possible by a $0.37 capacitor...
Not sure the colour names. That picture is from the DW FB page, so the rest ain’t mine! It’s funny some days the blue almost looks a little green!! I am partially colourblind though!

I also really like the one on the left side of your blue Roc. The combination of matte and sparkle in the same paint is a subtle thing, but it really pops if you know what you‘re looking at - my new green addition really made me appreciate that understated refinement in the paintjob of my Bird, as well.
