Aside from ordering Dingwall nickels, alot of people use basstringsonline for theirs. There are a lot of brands that fit the super series. When I had my SJP 4 string I used DR low-rider nickels, which correct me if I am wrong, Mr. Dingwall recommends, second to his own that is 
. Check out bassstringsonline they have sections for medium and long scale basses. Also when you sign up on the site let them know your Talkbass username, that you are a member and you will get a discount. Maybe someone else can chime in I can't remember his TB username. I also ordered a set of payson nickels when I had my combustion and they were relatively cheap.
Also for you that have custom orders in you can request nickels to be put on your bass. My SPJ5 will be shipping with them.

Hmm a soupy colour, indeed. Campbell's Tomato Soup! Made with milk, not water, for better flavour and colour. A hue to warm the cockles of the heart, and the belly, after coming home for lunch from school on the cold winter prairie, cheeks & nose still rosy from the wind nipping through mom's knitted scarf. Crackers, a dash of salt – a savoury salvation before having to bundle up and trudge, "snowmobile boots" squeek-crunching the snow, back to school for the afternoon.

Cool, thanks for the strings tip. I frequent BSO so that will be a good place for me. I thought about requesting nickels before shipping and then promptly forgot about it.

I forgot to do that as well, but I bought a set of Dingwall Nickels from BassNW when I was in Seattle for work last month. I'll likely give the steels a few weeks before I switch over to the nickels though.

The high here today, 34-degrees C (93.2 F), is certainly not as hot as say the Arizona desert or when I got heatstroke in So-Cal at 39 (102F), but the 90% humidity is making me long for some of that deceiving winter sun, and some tomato soup & crackers, followed by a slice of Saskatoonberry pie out of the freezer and left to thaw without microwaves... I better go eat something.
Meanwhile, I'll leave with this more-on-topic thought...
My mental Super P has gone from :
1) a solid Saskatoonberry finish with plain vanilla guard and rosewood board and dot markers to...
2) a transparent Saskatoonberry finish to show the woodgrain with white MOP guard & matching block markers on maple ...

I vote transparent Saskatoonberry over flamed maple top, vanilla pick guard edged in black, matching headstock, and block inlays of Saskatoonberry flamed maple edged with black pinstripes on a Birdseye maple fretboard.
*for the non-Canadians here...Saskatoonberry is a small tasty berry local to western canada. It's a rich dark plum/purple color that would look awesome on a bass.
Fretless Super P neck en-route! Comes with a new feature. You'll have to wait just like me to find out what that is?! Don't you love how Sheldon's workshop is constantly improving...

Best pie I ever ate was one of eight made by my Uncle Jimmy at the family's Meota lakeside cabin. (NorWest of Saskatoon for all you non-prairie people).

I vote the pie color. Deep, rich blue/purple over some nice wood grain. It would be like a fine wine splashed on a canvas...
I'd say it's not worth losing the C string over the P tone pup. My AB-1 sixer has become my main bass and it's the only one without a P tone in the neck position. It's well under 9 lb, and the pups in the sixer have always sounded a bit different than the other AB-1. They just seemed to be more punchy. I feel like it's covering all the sounds I want, and I haven't bothered to mod the neck pickup. With three pickups, you should have a huge range of sounds to mess with.
You can nudge the neck pickup in the P tone direction by going with it wired in series. Or maybe get a switch.
My AB-1 fiver was much improved with the P tone, but I'd been having issues with the stock neck pup. In my opinion, the P tone really works wonders on the Super series, but doesn't make as big a difference with the AB series.
My experience with the sixer has been a journey. Until I put all the other basses away and only played the sixer, there wasn't much point in having it. It was a much bigger jump than going from four to five strings. A total brain rewire, and after 18 months or so, I'm still dealing with grey areas. (maybe its just out of date grey matter?) Keeping six strings quiet required a technique revamp. I like the Gruv gear mutes.
You could always go with a fiver, strung E-C, but giving up the legendary 37" B string is a pretty huge trade off.

I'll let the more technical types get on with string and pup discussions without further interruptions. Unless Burning Skies posts another wicked pic that sets me off again...

I will be getting switches for each pickup. If i was to go the 5 it would be B-G definately. If there was a sound clip showing the difference between FD3 and P-Tone that would be awesome. Especially the FD3 with the switch.
