Just turned down a great deal on a SPS5.... kind of feel like vomiting...

What's an SPS5?
Did you play it? Maybe you should reconsider... I much prefer my SP5 (+J) to the AB's that I've tried.
It is, after all, only money and life is short. Think how nice it will look with your new strap.
If I come home with a bass that costs as much as an engagement ring, before I come home with an engagement ring, you will have to pull that bass free of my rear before I get a chance to play it.
There is that ...![]()
I have an AB1 and I love it. Just sold the BFR that was supposed to go to pay for it months ago.
Just looking at your pictures again. I was reminded that aside from feeling really nice in the hand, wenge/wenge necks look absolutely fantastic....Well, I may be as handy as boobies on a boar hog (I don't even own the most ubiquitous of manly masculine power tools, the power drill), but fortunately my cousin does and the alternative reverse P pick guard now fits perfectly.
Thanks Stevo. If you haven't tried one of Sheldon's wenge necks, I hope you can soon. He puts a thin coat of some kind of poly finish on it that makes it incredibly silky smooth to the touch, and fairly tough as well.Just looking at your pictures again. Yum.
Well guys I think I need help lol. Having some bad thoughts. You SP lovers don't hate me for this, but I'm still trying to get the SPj 5's tone to grow on me. At this point, sad to say I liked the sound of my combustion and my SJ4 with glock pre. I've tried different eq settings and pedals. My fav bass setting is both pups in parallel.
It did sound better at practice in the mix, however a lot of play time is solo. Not 100% what I want to do yet, but if anyone think they might possibly interested, shoot me a message. I'm toying with the thought of getting a full active Dingwall without a p pup. ... breathe...... sigh.
On a better note, I received a black pearl pick guard for my black and maple SJ4 with b pearl blocks. Looks amazing of course.
All in all, to each his own, right? I just wish there was a dealer close that kept Dingwalls in stock.
What kind of tone are you getting versus what you want to hear? Maybe just looking for that active vibe?
