I certainly am, this guy totally materialised my vision and more! I wasn't expecting the grains of the swamp ash body to come up so well
Thanks Sheldon, let's not forget it was your masterpiece to begin with, and I've just added an aesthetical revision.
This bass in facts has received 100's of praises on Facebook and one friend in common you and I have (Jonny Martin) even said it looked a bit Ritter-esque though that was far my thoughts as it could be I can see what he meant. But I assure you never my intentional plan :/
And if Jens Ritter ever dreams of taking any credits, he better wake up and apologise

Here's a small piece of an upcoming tune from one of my bands.
Tonally, I'm still not sold on what I did here. I put the bass very forward just to "showcase" it for this thread. It's loud, low and fat as hell. In a lot of cases, I go for a more mid-forward type tone, but here, there are so many layers, I felt that being a strong foundation suited the composition better.
You'll want good headphones/speakers for that
. It's only a 1 minute clip from the song. Please ignore the crappy playing... I'm going to go through and do a real take on it eventually, but for now I'm still playing around with the tone... I can be indecisive sometimes.

To add to this, is it possible to send a 2x ABI in to be converted to a 3x?
I'm not an authority of course, but it looks like the 2x and 3xs are in different positions to my eye. I would imagine you could send a 2x off to any luthier competent enough to route for the 3rd pickup, though I'm pretty sure it won't look like a 3x from Sheldon and crew.
I was trying to say that I don't think a 2x-converted-to-3x will look like a 3x-from-the-start, if that makes sense.
The reason I'm saying this (again, I very well could be wrong) is just due to how the 2xs are, and the routing options for the 3x. You'll get the third pickup in there - I'm just not sure it'd look identical to a from factory 3x. On a 2x, the bridge and neck pickup are not parallel with each other - the bridge pickup, high string side, would need pivoted back towards the bridge, and the whole pickup may need slightly moved as well. Then the hole for the 3rd can be punched. I don't know if you'll get the same, tight routes that a 3x has.
Hope that makes sense... and, again, I very well could be wrong. I just play (and admire) these things, and only do some minor woodwork.
Yeah, you're probably right. I guess the 2x has a unique rotary setting anyway.
So, I'm thinking of selling my NG2 to fund an ABI...good idea? The ABI is 4-string with 2x. Eventually I plan on adding an AB2 3x 5-string as well. Will these basses cover all the ground of the NG2? How nice is the quality jump?

As a consideration, if you've never played a bass with a ramp, I'd do so before buying a 3x. Some people don't like the feeling of that middle pickup and not much you can do about it at that point. I've heard great reviews of 2 pickup ABIs both in terms of feel, fit, and finish. A buddy much prefers the sound of his to the Nolly as he doesn't play any pickstyle and thought the nolly was largely suited to pickstyle metal in it's focused voicing, but his is passive so it's not exactly apples to apples. I'm sure the knowledgeable peeps here will be along shortly with more, but wanted to throw that out about the 3x. The look is definitely seductive, but practically the 2 pup bass is what more people are used to.
Although in retrospect that is a silly comment considering the NG2 has a pup in the middle position. Carry on.
I don't think that's the case; I think he meant he didn't find the voicing of the NG2 as suited for fingerstyle. I'd imagine the Afterburners are well suited to pick style, especially if you get one with the Darkglass which has two mid controls.
Had to sell my Dingwall Z1 that I'd just bought but was able to rebuy another Dingwall! I got an AB2 for 1900 shipped!! 
Close! It's a walnut top with a arbutus burl body! Super light, punchy, fast playing! OMG I'm in love! The AB plays sooooo much more comfortably than the Z1 I had to move, so I'm actually really, really happy with this whole thing. I'm in love!
Plus did I mention it's 8lbs?? So good!
Probably doesn't matter...I think my NG2 sounds awesome with finger or pick. Only the older AB's have Darkglass right?
