If it was just a bit closer I would make it. I used to work as an acoustical engineer for Boeing in Everett. I loved it up there in the Pacific Northwest.Heh, yeah. Would LOVE to have you up. Maybe we can somehow make it work out for 2018's? I'm shooting for late April or early May this year, so I'm betting too short of notice to make everything work out this year.

The Z3 rotary is mounted on a PCB. The on I use is to be ptp wired.

Anyone else using SS strings and finding their fretwear to be quite premature? It may be in my head - I know Sheldon says you shouldn't need fretwork for 5-10 years - but my NG-2's frets seem far more chewed up (proportionately, I know they were smaller to start with) than those of my 83 Fender.
Could all be in my head, though.

The angle pf the frets makes fret wear look more severe than it actually is. That might be what you're experiencing.Hey guys,

Yeah and most basses buzz when I play them just because I play very aggressively and my left hand technique is probably crap. I'm working on it. Ha!
The extra long scale Dingwall really bring out every nuance in your playing. That also means that it will "pickup" sloppy technique. Once you get it under control, it is a beautiful thing though.

Hey gang, wasn't there some new light Dingwall nickle strings out for medium scales? I looked at Dingwall and Basstringsonline and didn't see any? Am I misremembering? Alternative facts?.

Ok, going to bring the SPJ5 home, get them side by side and check relief, saddle height, etc. I like the tone on these nickles so want to keep them on if I can.
Well, I finally got around to wiring the neck (super fatty) pickup on my SJ5 wired in series last night and took it to practice tonight. THAT's what I'm talkin' about!!! I don't know what took me so long. 
Part of what motivated me is how much I love the tones of my SJ/P4 which has both pickups wired series. Not that it sounded bad before, but now I am lovin' it!

I really have been paying no mind to this topic but I'm getting pretty darn tempted to do it myself the more you guys keep talking about it. Lol.
I'll report back next Tuesday. My new (to me) Super J is a pretty rare bird in that it has a factory pan knob as opposed to the much beloved multi-position selector. I've been struggling with that a bit so I decided to wire both pickups in series before I do anything more drastic like replace the pan knob with a regular Dingwall selector. I don't have a rig here right now, but Tuesday is my next practice.
