I hope so. I'd love to see a big metal-flake finish Dingwall in the world. In fact, I'd really like one with also sparkle flames on it.
I have one of those for when I'm packing one bass, as well as one of their double bass bags for when only two will do. I love both.
Yep, they are. Google Andy Irvine's videos - they're with an NG-2, admittedly, but his videos were what finally convinced me that the Combustion series (and NG-2 especially) weren't just good for rock.

Totally!!! A regular combustion is a fantastic bass with less edge then the NG2. Very articulate.
That said I believe "claudiorocha"? Probably spelled it way wrong has some vids playing an NG2 on tunes that are far from metal.

I have a friend who's using a standard Combustion for playing in a Phish cover band and a Dead cover band. I've been using Dingwalls in reggae, dub and soul contexts now for over a decade. Lee Sklar uses his for classic and mainstream rock and pop settings (although those are Z-series). Lots of guys playing Dingwalls for lots of stuff from rock and funk to classic and jazz.
I'll have a Combustion NG-2 in the next week or so, and my intent is to use it as my main road bass.
I’m sure the bass will receive much love, but I must admit this makes me a bit sad.Now that I think about it, I have a brand new Dingwall bag that I just received with my new ABZ-5 ..........The bass lives on the wall now and doesn't need a case.

Sorry I wasn't clear. What I meant was: The ABZ lives on the wall when I am not playing it! Though I have 30+ basses, I currently only have 8 wall hangers, so only my "top 8" are at the ready for immediate access when I get the urge (and have a few minutes!) to play. Due to an insane work schedule, I don't have time to play with any other musicians, although I would really love to. I've got a nice 7 piece Pearl Export drum set, a nice PA, mics, and two guitar amps all set up in the music room. The only use it all gets is from my two 5-year old kids, and the 3-year old when she sneaks into the room unsupervised. I mostly play the bass at night with headphones, and sometimes on weekends with the amp if my wife takes the kids somewhere.
I did buy 16 more wall hangers, so when time permits, I'll hang up 16 more basses so that I have more to choose from!
Although realistically, all I'm playing is the ABZ, an MTD 634, a Sadowsky Will Lee, Warrior Dran Michael 4 and 5, a Vigier Arpege III, a G&L L2K, and I predict the new Fender Victor Bailey Fretless I just got will displace the StingRay 4 on the 8th spot. I had forgotten how much fun fretless is. I just spent over an hour with that one.

You can have peace of mind that I'm out on the roads with mine, eating up stagetime. 100 or so gigs in 2017, and 2018 looks to be even better!
And here I was still not 100% sure about my G&L SB-1 'cause I kept thinking about a bridge pick-up for down-tuned modern metal, knowing that Dingwall do not offer left handed models.
Calling my want to have a Dingwall GAS would be disrespectful, I've been set on eventually having one before I purchased my first instrument (which admittedly, was quite recent, summer 2016).
It's genuinely and absolutely heartwarming knowing that a left-handed tool would be available for the job once it calls for one.

I'd recommend you to check out reunion blues gig bags. Super sturdy! Many of my friends have gotten mono cases and most of them end up falling apart =/

The ABZ, although not the very top of the product line, is well justified as being a Wall Hanger to reach for when the urge strikes. Such an amazing bass!. Congrats on getting one to live with such noble brothers on the wall. I have been thinking about doing the same thing with a couple of basses. My music room is separate; this is so I can just reach up and grab one. I think such will lead to more "couch" practice time than having to go to the separate room or get a bass out of it's case.
Wow! Never would have imagined that. I have had my double mono bag for at least 6 or 7 years and it’s seen scores of gigs. Still looks like new. I’ve had my vertigo bag for 3-4 years and the same is true. I must not be gigging hard enough!
Nah, you just need to start letting your drummer lug your bass in and out of the van. Then you'll find out how sturdy your gig bag really is.
The entire reason for the Vertigo being my choice apart from the fantastic protection in and of itself is the top loading and boot. It's exactly what I've always wanted from a gigbag. So many banged up basses from unloading in too small rehearsal spaces with regular bags. Being 6'5" tall, the Vertigo really saves my back as well.
