Its a pity we'll never find out the real reason, he's left, just hope that he joins/makes a new band and gets to use his full potential, i think he wasn't using all his talent on morning view personaly.

Honestly, the best player for Incubus as they currently would be a Tony Levin type: two notes, but the greatest two notes ever played.
I don't really see why you guys are so sad about this... lets just hope for a better future for Dirk and soon Incubus will fade away, they abandoned an underground fanbase for poppier surroundings. Hopeful Dirk will join a band where his talents can truely come to great use instead of to make pop garbage.

incubus ruled. the last album was a bit of a let-down, but they had a long way to go before something crippling like this should have happened.

hub from the roots?! 
i dunno, as great a bassist as hub is i've never heard him really....you know...rock. kinda makes me think this new record is going to be all r&b stuff or something...

I just looked over on the Roots' site -- there's nothing about Hub joining Incubus, although the Roots' guitarist, Ben Kenney, has joined Incubus.

utterly shocked. I really would like the whole story. I hope they didn't part ways on bad terms. This is exteremly upsetting.

Man that really does suck. Dirk was and still is one of the biggest and best bassist in my eyes. And he is a awsome guitarist. I hope he (Dirk) and Incubus' Guitarist (mike) leave and do something, they were awsome together....

Actually this isn't might not be too far from the truth. Whenever they'd have band squabbles the band would always call boyd "rockstar." Apparently that would piss him off.

I hope he'll join a band soon, so we can hear him again, and that they won't turn into major sell-outs. There was a SERIOUS decline after S.C.I.E.N.C.E.
On the other hand, good for Alex. Selling out is bad.
