Dirty comedians

I can deal with a little profanity as part of telling the story, but guys like Katt Williams and Andrew Dice Clay lose me with the quickness. Some of my favorite clean and close to clean comics are

Mitch Hedberg
Jim Gaffigan
Bill Engvall
John Pinnette (you MUST hear his Wizard of Oz buffet, his Chinese food buffet, and his Disney World giant slide routines)
Alonzo Bodden

I don't mind profanity if it's used correctly. There are guys like Lewis Black who use it to embellish the "anger" that is already in their act, and it works. But then there are comedians who just swear for the sake of doing it.

Lisa Lapannelli, agreed.

I just hate her because she seems to think that just because she dates a black man she is instantly allowed to say some of the things that she does and it's acceptable. She's trash.

You all have earned a brofist. Loud racial and super vulgar jokes repeated over gets old real fast. I'd rather watch Dane Cook. Seriously.

Exactly! It's not bad if you know what you're doing. People like Lewis Black aren't dirty comedians to me because he's really a master of the craft whereas people who I consider dirty comedians are like toddlers with hammers.

The best example I could give would be Lisa Lapannelli. The second I see her face I change the channel.

Is it Lisa Lampanelli? Didn't get any Youtube results for 'Lapannelli', but I looked up a couple of Lisa Lampanelli vids. A lot of 'jokes' she made did seem very offensive (and dirty), especially considering my fragile sensibilities regarding jokes on racial stereotypes ;)

I don't have a problem with "filth" in comedy so long as it's used funnily (I know not a real word). Take posehn for example he kinda swears alot but it makes him come off as an every man. My favorite comedians are posehn, Kirk fox(?), Doug benson, Louise C. K. and Ricky Gervaise. On the other hand I strongly dislike Dane cook, Seinfeld, Jeff Dunham, and Lewis black. I don't hate them because their clean or dirty I just find their material boring. The only comedians I loathe are Gilbert godfried(?) and that Lisa chick who for some unfathomable reason always make it on the cc roasts.

I didn't care enough to figure out how to spell her name correctly but yeah, that's probably it. Do get me wrong, I likes me some funny racism just as much as the next guy but she's just bad it it... and humor in general :p

The last three times I've tried watching stand up comedians on Comedy Central, they were nothing but CONSTANT bleeps. It's extremely irritating, and I have to change the channel after 30 seconds or so.

I don't mind dirty jokes and vulgarity, but it seems like that's all comedians do these days. They are just trying to curse as much as possible for the sake of it.
Totally tasteless!

Never EVER watch BET comedy specials then, lol.

I don't know that I've ever heard Steven Wright "work blue" and he is one funny ************! And far from a storyteller.

Some comedians can turn it on and off. Mitch Hedberg was a great example. Dmitri Martin, Jim Gaffigan, Greg Behrendt, and Redd Foxx are also good examples. They were funny whether they were working blue or not.

I watch very few stand up comedians because of the profanity and or dirty humor. An occasional dirty joke is okay but when your hearing the f word every few seconds, that is not entertaining to me. I will have to check out some of the clean comedians several people have posted up. Another one that I like that I have not seen on here in Brian Regan. Dude is hysterical!

If you haven't, check out the aforementioned Steven Wright.
