Ya know, my wife tried to tell me that, while men can not menstrate, we do have some sort of "biorhymic cycle" which does fluctuate. And, no, she's not into Astrology, Bio-whatever, or anything weird. It's just a fact that guys DO get mood swings...

I'll admit, that sometimes I do... And, that its directly proportional to my wifes period!

Women who spend a lot of time together tend to have their cycles match up so maybe something similar can happen with men.

Im guessing it has to do more with conditioning yourself to dealing with your wife's PMS though. You can subconciously tell when its comming either by slight behaviioral cues, or by chemical signals and your body knows its time to be more sensitive or get out of her way depending on how she gets ;). Then again, it could also be biologically in men. Nocturnal emmisions supposedly follow a 28 day cycle just like the menstrual cycle.




Did I just make this thread about nocturnal emmisions? :eyebrow:

I concur and have expressed the same to Paul.

It used to be a lot more "fun", looser, and more "free." Nowadays, you can't interject any humor that isn't about as sanitized as a Regis Philbin monologue without having your post deleted....depending on the mod.

Even worse, a little clique has been allowed to form that jumps on everyone who doesn't agree with their point of view.

I fully support standards of decency on the web but it seems as though TB is becoming MTV - mindless for the masses.

I havnt noticed that, but I tend to tune out idiots...... :p

As for the freedom aspects, while I do somewhat agree on the whole, I do understand that there are alot of minors on theses boards as well as it can be VERY challenging trying to decipher someones intent by written word alone, unless you personally know the poster.....

*shrugs* Its still better than the other communities I was part of..... No, I wont mention which....

Try as one may, change cannot be escaped.....

Its funny, just yesterday I noticed that there werent many posts lately from you Joe.

I know I kind of come and go from TB. I will be here a lot for a week or two, then barely at all for a week or two. One thing I do know is that you are one of my favorite posters. I love your honesty about things.

I understand your feeling of a post were no one responds. I think it was about a year ago, I was kind of drunk and really depressed about my bass playing after what I thought was a bad gig. I wrote what I thought was well thought out, thought invoking post. Not one response, I was a little down about that for a while.

I am sure it will pass. I think TB is comfortable place that most of us will not leave.

Since I had some free time today I decided to put a little extra effort into my Talkbass experience once again. Kinda forced myself to participate in some threads, and put myself out there a little. I also renewed my supporting membership. I guess I'll get my avatar once more as soon as things clear at paypal.

Looking forward to visiting the lounge once again. I let my membership lapse for a month or 2. Perhaps that had some sort of kharmic affect on my attitude towards the forum.

I know I come across as a jerk sometimes, but I'm really not that serious about it, and I sub-conciously hope that the opposing person will throw something rude & funny back, kind of forming a bond or something. I don't really act immature in person, neither am I cut & dry/to the point. I think I just need to remember that the other person can't see my facial expression when I'm typing, they're mostly smiles when I'm busting chops. Mostly amazement when we're talking about fish :eek: That's another thing too, I think it's goofy to use these emoticons all the time to dictate you're mood. I do usually try to help though with technical stuff, but I need to brush off & not reply to the annoying threads, you know, the ones that just require common sense more than ANY bass knowledge

Congrats on the record deal! You guys deserve it.

English classes should teach writing. Literature classes, not necessarily English (Russian, Irish, whatever) should teach you how to interpret/appreciate books. Media classes should teach you how to interpret/appreciate films. I should be in charge of organizing all of the schools because I'm the only one who understands what goes with what. :hmm:

I haven't really noticed a big change in TB, but I haven't been paying close attention. I don't read several forums (like technique or instruction, the ones that could help me become a better player . . . ). I almost missed this thread. I've noticed you post less Joe, and I miss Mad Subwoofer in effects, anybody know where he went?

thats america......this is australia..we dont have things as media classes...it all about image..how people interptry things....i spose we're just smarter we can do more things in the one topic :smug: ;) :p :D

Is that also why there are at least 20 spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors in your post? :D :D :D

There was a Kubicki at my local GC for several months. I played it a few times and really wanted to buy it but could not justify buying another 4 string. Now I know what you've been raving about Heath. I'm sorry it finally sold, now I can't play it when I stop there.

Where in an average school's schedule will you find time for Literature, English, and Media classes?

My schedule was packed and we only had English classes which focused mainly on English or Literature depending on the year and teacher.
