DLB (Dan Lakin Basses) Coming Soon!

Phoenix Basses. Rising from the ashes, and all that.

There could be a PBC logo on the headstock and an inlaid

somewhere.

Something simple like DL Basses. No need for a fancy or gimmicky name if the quality is there. When he does another 5 string active bass, Nordstrand pickups and a flexible preamp would do it for me. Sounds like the things he is doing on his new line are some of the things that never made it on the Skylines. My only beef about the current Skylines is the attention to detail in assembly. I had 2 55-02 and now have only 1. The one I got directly through my local dealer had issues with the neck and tuning machines that appeared to be installed by a blind guy. The one through Amazon was perfect. Plus assuming they all get set up at the Chicago factory and you get something with issues, having that Plekked card on it is meaningless. So if Dan steps it up on the QC, he'll do fine.

Glad to see Dan getting fully back out there, even though he was really never gone. I love Lakland basses and I'm in the crowd that very much appreciates the Skyline gig.

I was in for "Lakin" for the name. But I'll leave that to others. I'm not good with names.

I'm in with others for possible interest in a 5-string version. Not to start a derail, but like the 35" scale of the 55-02 but not the JO5. That's just me.
