DNA Owners Group

My most recent communication with DNA went something like this! :D

Hey DNA group....I finally sold everything I needed to to fully fund my DNA 1350 / DNS 8 ohm 2 X 10 cab. I'll be headed out tomorrow on the hardest vacation of my life!! LOL. I will be headed to the Nashville area for the next 8 days and then will be taking delivery of the gear on Friday the 21st, giving it a quick run through and then straight out to the gig that evening. I will also become (a sort of) endorsing artist of DNA gear. I have a gentlemen's agreement with David to help rep the brand here in Austin as there is really nobody here playing DNA. That's about the best way I can put it. Either way I'll suffer through my next week at the Grand Ole Opry resort waiting to get back home and get my gear rockin'!!!

It's been awhile since I mentioned user comments from previous DNA demo events. People felt that the DNA 12's were close to having the tight responsiveness of 10's plus everything that is good about 12's. The DNA 15 is also tight design, the way 12's can be. No flab. So it's good to keep an open mind and try several DNA cabinet designs.

Coupling/pairing also makes a huge difference which is one reason a pair of DNS112's surprises people. I've had 610 and 810 users stand in front of the stage with their mouths open as my compact rig floors them. That was with an Eden WT405 head. Same thing when I used a single DNS 115 on a festival stage powered by a bridged Eden WT800. Friends commented how good it sounded from the parking lot, several hundred yards away, during our set-up, before the PA was turned on.

Had a pleasant surprise today. I drug my wife and kids down to the Low End Bass Shop in Murfreesboro today while we're out here in Nashville. I played an awesome Low End 5 through some pre/power amp into a DNA 410 and then into a DNA 2X10....what I'm coming home to tomorrow!!:hyper::bassist:

Anyhow, both cabs sounded incredible. I didn't get super loud but the tone of the 2X10 was great. A nice sparkly high end, smooth but musical mids and low end for days. Really looking forward to rocking the amp and cab this weekend. :)

Does anyone have a phone number to contact DNA direct?

I've been emailing David about replacement drivers for my 2x10 and told him yesterday I'd call him to place my order, but the number on the website is a generic 222-222-2222. I tried it just to be safe and of course it goes straight to a voice recording telling me it's not a valid number.

I'd like to get the order placed today, so any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Wow is about all I can say!! My 1350 got in this morning and I got to spend about 30 minutes playing through it at a reasonable volume. Talk about tone!! I know my fellow DNA users already know all this but man does this gear deliver. I have a Sire V7 and went through the setup tips and let it rip. EQ flat and shape knob off delivered punch for days. Bringing the shape up to 9 o clock still kept the punch but smoothed things out just a bit and would make a great slap tone for me. Messing with the EQ was fun too and each point is set at the right spot to get some awesome usable tones for different styles, sonically challenged rooms etc. I'm ready to get this to the gig tonight!

Hi,
I contacted David and he will get back to you via mail tonight.
The number on the webpage will be fixed asap.

Hey gang. Gig went great last night. The DNA rig sounded great last night. It sounded a little "tight" but I think part of it might be getting the speakers to break in. I ran it at a solid volume but forgot to bring something to angle the cab towards me so I lost some sound there. Our sound man was on the border of not running me in the PA!! He said the sound was incredible out front. Lol! Anyhow, everything worked great and I'm looking forward to the next show.

Don't you just love it when the sound man likes your sound so much he's hesitant to run it through the FOH?

I try to leave our sound man some room to do his thing. I never go crazy and just blow everybody away, because while that's fun to do it usually makes for a pretty crappy FOH sound/mix. He was able to blend the PA with my rig to make for a nice full sound, but still being able to control every aspect of the mix. He definitely enjoyed the tone of the DNA rig!

I appreciate the effort!!

I rec'd an email form David last Fri. evening (8/1) with a contact phone number....but the number goes immediately to a generic voicemail message that recites the number as soon as it connects. I tried calling a few times over Monday and Tuesday thinking it was a cell phone that was turned off, with the same result. I've left a message on the voicemail, and sent Dave an email letting him know the number he provided goes straight to voicemail and that I'd like to talk with him and place the order for the replacement speakers as soon as possible. He has yet to get back with me. It's going on a week and I'd like to fix this cab as soon as possible.

I'd love to have OEM drivers to put back in it, as that would be the proper thing to do, but at this point I'm considering just throwing a pair of quality drivers in it an calling it a day.

Any thoughts or suggestions??
