Do I suck?

I buy, sell and trade leather jackets and a guy offered a trade and I was kind of busy one night
and responded you have a deal in an email. The next day I did a little more research
it was a Schott bomber A-2 jacket and apologized
and I told him I changed my mind. He said I suck and should stick to my word.
Do I suck or am I allowed to change my mind? (for arguments sake,I am not going to lose any sleep over it). I mean is an email like a hand shake?
What do you guys think of Schott A-2 flight jackets. They sell for 350 on ebay and then the next day 65? Just all over the board. In fact perfecto's are like that too. They sell for 300,400,275 etc, then I get one and have a hard time getting 135. I mean no visible condition discrepancy .
I just can't figure them out.

Yeah, ya kinda suck dude.

BUT, you are allowed to change your mind up until the transaction takes place. By backing out, in his mind, at that moment, you suck. That could change at any time. We all run the risk of sucking at some point. Some of us can shake it, while some of us suck longer. Some are left to suck for eternity. It can be a hard climb back up from sucking.

Yes you suck. You agreed to a deal and THEN did research. It's not the buyer's fault you didn't do this ahead of time. He apparently knew enough to have done his research ahead of time, and knew he was getting a great deal. Was he swindling you? Nope. Just getting a bargain.

I think the bigger question is "Will you be more careful next time?" If you take this incident as a cautionary tale and don't repeat it, then you don't suck very much. But human nature being what it is, you would have probably learned your lesson better if you had honored what you said you'd do, and paid the stupid tax. You got away with going back on your word - what's he going to do, reach through your monitor and strangle you? - and if that makes it easier to do next time and you do it again, then yes, you really really suck.

Not sure if you suck or not as your post is difficult to follow. With that said, to me, a man is only as good as his word.
BTW, I bought this A-2 new for $129 maybe 10 years ago. One of the best jackets I ever owned.

I once won a bass neck on Ebay and the seller changed his mind and refunded my payment. I thought he sucked very much (I'm talking to you AC Basses! :rage:)

On the bomber jacket side, I could only afford a used Wilson's B3 with acrylic faux fleece. :atoz:
