Do people really quit talkbass?

Ahh yes, biski and gia were the ones I was thinking of. biski seemed to have a pretty good wit about her, her name was longer though... biski2dope or something like that? I guess a search will fill in the blanks.

I miss disenchent also. She was the one (I think??) who shed a little ray of rational light on the whole scientology thing. I'm not a scientologist, but I'm empathetic towards organizations and religions that get bad raps without people really knowing about them and just spewing out all the crap that the media (and some crazy famous people) put out.

I liked mike money too. I was bummed when he got tossed, but I've a feeling he's still here with a different name and attitude.

There was a kid who was all over the fitness challenge thread that lost a lot of weight, got in great shape, posted lots of times every day, and then just *poof*... vanished. If I searched out the thread I could find his name but I'm gonna go respond to a PM and take a nap. I'm an old guy now. I need naps.

RIP JGBass, another great TB'er. We corresponded about our individual fights with our illnesses.

Rick was one of the coolest guys I've ever run across here at TB.

Some time ago, Major Metal had a thread that was titled something along the lines of "Have you ever cried about the death of someone you never met?" The answer for me is yes, I cried when I found out Rick had passed. Although we never met in person, I felt as if I knew him from the 3+ years of interacting with him here at TB.

RIP, Rick.

For some reason I always feel a weird sort of sadness whenever I hear of the death of forum members, maybe even achingly more so than the death of real life people who I actually knew. I don't know why: it always seems like there's a lack of closure and the haunting memory, with their still existent profiles.

A point I made earlier in this thread. Yes, quite sad and a bit unnerving....cos that will be all of us one day. Unless our partners discover our TB accounts and announce our passing. Once they have recovered from the shock of reading years of our secret online activity...

You know, we will all be somewhat immortalized by internet forums. Our words will be here, no matter how irrelevant, as long as the forum survives. Never before in history had this been the case unless you published something. It is weird if you read someone that has passed posts, but also an opportunity to celebrate the light they shone on your time here. Nice.
