Do people really quit talkbass?

I used to have a neighbor that my roommates started calling Goolie Froth.

We were talking about some Scorpions album and my friend Chris mentioned something about Uli Jon Roth and the drunk neighbor attempted to correct his pronunciation, but his version came out "Goooolie Fraaaawth". He never lived that down!

I have attained numerous infractions here , a username change etc, but I got pretty calm and dont post the garbage like i use to and since its been smooth sailing.

I have seen a few go the hard way ..................gibenbacker

I'm so disappointed I missed the day when he snapped. From what I heard it was a train wreck. I think that was during one of my week long hiatuses (of all times too...)

Some of us go somewhere near there, and it gets bad. Most back off when they realize how much of a fool they're making of themselves.

Some GO THERE.... and it resembles a school bus hitting a derailing train carrying full septic tanks.

This thread took off in a bazillion directions. I started it with a not so accurate title. I really just wanted to know who changed their names, who left, who died, etc.

There were a couple of girls here in the very early days that were cool, funny and entertaining. Anyone remember their names? Curious what became of them.

I recently got an infraction that IMO was completely unwarranted, and for certain important reasons that I clearly explained, wanted it removed. The fact that I couldn't and was powerless over it - and that it was one man's opinion against my own, almost made me consider getting out of here. For those that don't have any infractions, they show up on your my talkbass page. I believe, for life.

Anyhow, this thread took off in a bazillion directions. I started it with a not so accurate title. I really just wanted to know who changed their names, who left, who died, etc.

Wow you did it with this one Joe ha, ha, ha.

I have been on here a while and I like reading peoples stories and stuff and have wonder myself what becomes of TBer's at times?
I post gig info and funny stuff and sometimes help people figure out what kind of bass they have when they do not know what it is.
Life is too short to give a crap about what I know or you know I skip over those threads. If I have a question I usually PM someone to find the answer usually when they are using the same gear I am using. By the way Joe haven't had any new post from your band for me to caption get with it guy LOL RTS

The infractions show on your My Talkbass page for life, but they do expire at some point, in which they no longer affect you.

Actually, mention numerous stickers. Use phrases like 'What's an endpin', that drives them into a frenzy.

And use Headstock or fretboard instead of scroll and fingerboard. I tried to quit Talkbass, but usually I just go over to the other side. The DB side though has become a sad and ugly place. Oh and I changed my username, I used to be mikedamook, but I don't think I posted on this side back then.

Only on the way in, my friend... only on the way in. Fuqua keeps all those scented candles in the bathroom for a reason, and it ain't so he can light 'em all up around his bubblebath while listening to a George Winston rekkid. :eyebrow:

Priceless. Did I tell you I called him one night totally by accident. I was calling another friend named Ed, picked off the wrong number and Foghorn answered. I quickly realized he was not the guy I was calling. When I told him my name, he said, I know a guy with the same name. Wait a minute, WHO IS THIS? Actually had a pleasant conversation. He didn't mention anything about the candles and I kind of avoided the whole bubblebath topic. Didn't want him getting the wrong idea on the first call. When I show up at his apartment with the rope and stungun is soon enough.

Remember Gia?
Sure do. She had 2 middle names, the first was 'Attention'.

I haven't seen Boplicity post in a long time, she was always quite helpful and cheerful.

Michael Jewels has been off the board for some time, he was a fun character. He's heavy into photographing basses and models :eek:nowadays I think. ;)

Around the time I joined there was a lovely lady named Cheri (don't remember her screen name) who was around frequently. I haven't seen her around in a couple of years, at least. She and I shared a passion for bourbon.

Another was the hot Asian, Sunni (again, I forgot her screen name). She got married and faded from TB pretty quickly.
