Do people really quit talkbass?

You've got to take that with a grain of salt. At their age, a lot of froth happens naturally.

Oh...I definitely notice it there more then here. I am primarily a DB player, yet I never post on that side. The amount of snobbery there is INCREDIBLE! Seems like every other poster is a total expert.

Ironic, considering I am 2nd chair in two orchestras.

And if you are a rockabilly player...fuggedaboudit! Don't even show your face over there! They will tear you apart.

Thats not ironic at all. For all we know, those so called experts could be 1st chair in one or more orchestras. In fact, what is ironic, is you describing their arrogance whilst simultaneously showing your own.

Who was that poster whose band was completely about image? They were some overly poppy rock band that completely sucked. I don't think he even was originally on Talkbass; someone posted his band's website on here for the lulz, and he started posting on here to defend himself. I remember there were these really cheesy handwritten tabs to his songs that you could download from his band's website. That was funny stuff. :D
