Do you call your bass a guitar?

I'm just curious how many people say for instance "I need to fix my guitar" as opposed to "I need to fix my bass". Anytime I say guitar instead of bass my drummer usually points it out right away and I'm like 'Same ****' but I'm curious if anyone else does it lol

I'm going to unfollow this thread as soon as I post because I swear I am not trying to start trouble. I'm also sure someone has already says what I'm about to:

Unless you're talking about a double bass, you are talking about a bass guitar. You can bandy semantics, but at the end of the day, neither appellation is wrong.

I play church gigs, and sometimes people recognize me when I'm not on stage. A few will say "you're the bass player", and then usually say something nice about the worship set. I say thanks.

Sometimes, people will say "you're the guitarist", or "one of the guitarists", and then say something nice about the worship set. I say thanks. Close enough.

If people ask me, I'm the bass player, but if they call me a guitarist, I don't let it bother me. I'm a musician, they liked what the band did, why would I argue about details?

I call my upright bass an upright bass, I call my electric upright bass an electric upright bass and I call my electric bass an electric bass.

I only play my electric bass now due to the effects of a minor stroke messing with my right side. I also played accordion, piano and guitar but that's a different thread.

I play a striped bass and it is not a guitar

They are guitars. Just of a different type and musical function than the standard Spanish guitar. Of course, most of us for the purpose of conciseness and clarity refer to them in conversation as basses, because of the particular musical role they play. But they still are a kind of guitar.
