Do you dance when you play bass?

I'm the OP. When I said "Dance" , I meant I let my body move to the music and interact with my fellow musicians, not some sort of synchronized or intentional thing.

I tell my guitarist - I can dance while I play, or I can stand still and make faces that even Joe Satriani would find excessive. Dancing it is.

It was a biker bar and the ladies were, well , er.. biker ladies, so I am doubly honored. Those ladies don't normally interact with any band member. If it happens again, I will get a picture (with my face edited out).

As my wife can attest, I DO NOT LIKE to dance, except when I’m playing. I more... groove to the music than “dance”. But I’ll play to the crowd a bit depending on the song.

never been on a stage big enough to really move around. I kinda...groove a little, I guess. When I had a lot of hair, I'd swing that around, but those days are long gone.

Truth be known, it is possible I've may have done this move a time or two

Definitely have never been this happy jacked up about locking in with a keytar player

If I could do this, I'd incorporate it into every show

It's been a looooong time since i did a 'proper' gig, but I used to be fairly mobile and would use however much stage space was available (often not much...)

These days, my movement is largely of the 'shifting weight from one foot to the other in a rhythmic manner, with occasional head nodding' variety.

I use the headstock of my bass as sort of a conductor's baton sometimes to help the drummer hit certain cues. I'm sure to someone looking at the stage it looks like I'm getting into the boogie a little.

I get out on the dance floor several times a night. Well I used to. Now I have a hard enough time just stepping up onto the stage, I still sway to the music though.

I do dance. When the music moves and I was younger I would moon walk and dance like Michael Jackson's cousin Tom. Not good but passable.

Now I dance like an angel and by that I mean St. Vitus.
