Do you have a fear of breaking strings

I use to fear tuning the Hi e on guitar at first because i broke many of them.
I'll have to ask my buddy Tim about that. He has a Tele w/ string trees and such...not gentle with it, either.
I have no problems but I follow process / procedure and rarely, if ever, remove and re-install.

Yeah, I was about to go there. I only fear a break when initially stringing it up. And those string tree thingies freak me out as I can feel, see and hear the string binding and releasing on the edge of them. So on initial tuning I'll tighten them up to within a half step while holding the string down with my thumb and THEN tuck them up under the tree for final adjustments.

Fear this at all, uh no. Fear some idiot driving down the road with a cell phone jammed in their face.
The high G on my 12-string guitars almost always break. If not immediately on tuning up, then usually after a bit of vigorous playing. On my basses - not so much.
No. Haven't broken a bass string in over thirty years.
I got my first bass in 1987 and I have never broken a string. Not even from an anomalous manufacturer defect or anything.
Here you go again with your obsession with breaking strings!
