Do you have an phobias?

I crawl in dank places so small I have to exhale to get to the side with no exit. Full of spiders, etc.

I walk the tops of walls and roofs.

I laugh while riding Ferris wheels and inverted roller coasters.

Air travel is a thrill and the only way to "get there."

Put me in a crowd, a small closet, an MRI.... I'm as peaceful as a sleeping baby.

My phobias?

Japanese bass gurls... and sheep....

Heights, if I feel vulnerable/ not in control – I'll rappel from any height no problem, but if I'm being belayed by someone else and can't support my own weight, forget about it.

Oh, and snakes... those long, slinky wriggling things freakin' scare the hell outta me. Like, shriek-like-a-little-girl-and-start-hyperventilating scare the hell outta me.

Do not fear the sheep, for they are wooly and... Well, wooly.

Even more importantly, mosasaurs.

"Science" and the "fossil record" would have you believe we've been safe from these sea beasts for "65 million years," but no ivory tower is strong enough to save you when you're caught by those crushing jaws.

Soft kitty,
Warm kitty,
Little ball of fur.
Happy kitty,
Sleepy kitty,
Purr, purr, purr.

No phobias but I have a lot of stuff I don't care for. I honestly do not get how anybody is comfortable flying. I don't go all Marge Simpson but the slightest bump of turbulence and I am flippin' out on the inside.

I never had a turbulence, but if I did ;

1) I probably won't care because II'll never get on a plane unless I'm drunk after the last time.

2) If have to be sober for some reason, I'd probably faint or open the door for an early heart attack at the age of 30. I can't even imagine bumping up and down, feeling like falling thousands of meters above.:atoz:

Psychologically, consider yourself already dead. Then, start ordering drinks. When your mind tries to trick you by bringing up the question "Should I really order another drink?", go back to "psychologically, consider yourself already dead". So, the answer then becomes "I'm already dead so, why not?". Become Mr. Happyflier.

Claustrophobia is really the only problem I have, and it's quite specific. Crowds and overall small spaces aren't really an issue, but if it's at all tight on me or closed up and there's a chance of me getting stuck or having to rely on someone else to get free I flip.

Also, heights I'm only scared of if I feel vulnerable. I can lay on the glass floor of the CN Tower and stare all the way down to the ground, but if you were to ask me to go outside of it on a windy day I'd say no sir.
I wouldn't call those phobias. Phobias are irrational fears.

Your fears have logic, common sense, and natural consequences involved.

I have similar fears. Being trapped without escape is a natural fear; even animals have that. Being trapped and having to rely on the kindness of your fellow man--who you know is full of mischief, selfish ambition, and evil motives--is logical. Fear of heights in a challenging environment or unstable surface is natural; even animals have that fear.

In the grand scheme, I'd say you're probably pretty courageous.

I honestly do not get how anybody is NOT comfortable flying. Seems silly to me. It's not anymore unnatural than driving 70 mph down the freeway surrounded by a dozen other cars--some only 2 or 3 feet away--going 70 mph too!

When I crash at 70 mph my odds of surviving are significantly better than my odds of plummeting 30k feet @ 300+ mph. It's not the odds makers that determine a phobia, it's the idea of the incident.
