Do you kids come to your shows?

So kind of in line with the thread "do your parents come to your shows." I saw a few people in that thread comment on their kids.

So yes/no do your kids come to your shows?

None of our 3 kids played any instruments. We had options available and I would have done it all to support any musical pursuit but the daughters were dancers and son is very artistic. No musical offspring, oh well.

All 3 are married now and they often come to a gig when we are local. The only downside is the two older kids painted one of my basses each. It never fails that when our son shows up I'm playing the one our daughter painted and vice versa. So I get the stink-eye until a break and I can change over.

It's fun when we play something that one of them suggested and it goes over well. And it makes me happy that I'm not too "uncool" yet and they still show up.

My kids do come on occasion, and my eldest daughter - an opera singer - even will jump in on occasion for a song. Having my wife and kids at a show is one of the biggest highlights ever!!!

When any of our kids are there and we come to a song that they suggested, I mention their name and that it was their idea to do the song if it went well. Their choices, that we played so far, have all worked out. We don't take all of them though.

Glad for our great relationship with our kids.

I don't have kids (that I know of ). I've been playing live for about 25 years and from my parents only my mom came to one of my gigs once.

i live in a different town than both of my grown kids (and stepkids), but they've all been to one of our public gigs at one time or another (usually bars/restaurants).

they love the hubbub and seeing their dad play, and i love seeing them have fun! what's not to like!? my two oldest grandkids are also in the loop (when they're visiting)!

Yup, when they can. Daughter is under age so can't come to the bar gigs. Both have attended.

My son lives on the other side of the country so he is not around that often, but when he is back home and the band is playing he will be there.

He gets a big kick out of seeing me play. My lady sends him short videos of our gigs.

Our keys player’s oldest son will sometimes join us as a guest vocalist for a song. Both guitar players kids come to gigs a lot but that has slowed down since one of them recently had a baby.

Oddly, the drummers kids never show up.

I find those situations strange too. The two other members of our band have kids that don't live right by us so understandably they don't have many options to come to our gigs. But even when they are around they don't show up. I don't ask.

Our band only has a combined 2 kids. One is probably old enough to hear us, but not old enough to be in most of the places we play at the times we play them. Our music itself is inoffensive enough, some curses here or there (we can make a G or PG rated set), but the bar environment isn't ideal.

Both my daughter and my son have been to some of our gigs. They usually come out when we've added a few of their suggested songs or when it's a new venue they've been meaning to check out. Neither of them are regulars at our gigs though and I wouldn't expect them to be.

Daytime shows, sometimes. I do a lot of winery gigs these days and that works out well

I don't have any children yet, but I think I had a tissue stuck to my boot one time. That's about the closest I've been to my offspring attending a show..

Mine are 16 and 19 now, so they've only been to a few festival gigs and none lately.

Related. My wife loves to tell a tall tale in which I left the hospital to do a gig the day the 16 year old was born.

In reality, she was born on Tuesday, the gig was on Saturday, and it was a festival gig with our set from 11 to 11:45 AM. So I left the house at 9:30 and was back by 1. Also pretty sure I brought lunch home with me.
