Do you know any reggae bass fills?

Hi

With my bass teacher, we are currently playing Free Nationals - Eternal Light. My next assignment in that regard is to look for cool reggae fills, transcribe them and apply them to that track.

Reggae fills seems to be hard to come by, especially in the classics. What tracks or records should I listen to, to find some cool fills?

That’s an odd assignment, as the bass in reggae might play variations, but very, very rarely plays fills.

Reggae bass playing mostly is all about playing the hook, keeping a vibe, and holding everything together in the arrangement. So some variation is expected, but going too far away from the hook and noodling around too much will basically ’unglue’ the song. The bass is the glue keeping it all together and vibing.
