Part four of my "Do You Own [insert album]" series. :p

Michael Jackson's Thriller. Undisputed best selling album of all time. It had some of the most iconic pop songs of all time, Billie Jean and Beat It. Eddie Van Halen even played on a track. Michael Jackson was the King of Pop and that was reason enough for a lot of people to NOT but the album. I never did.

I predict that despite its best selling status, Thiller is owned by less TBers than The Eagles - Their Greatest Hits,which still has me scratching my head. :confused:

I'm 0/4 on your poll, but I enjoyed reading the responses.

"Thriller" came out when I was in the 6th grade. I was into Van Halen, Rush, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest at the time. Everyone but the metalheads and rockers at our school loved "Thriller" so being the cool kids we thought we were, we hated it.

I've heard all of those songs so many times against my will that I can't imagine ever choosing to listen to that album much less owning it.

I was also in 6th grade when Thriller came out. And my musical tastes were also similar to yours. Unfortunately, my parents bought me Thriller and Billy Joel's Innocent Man for Christmas that year (or maybe it was 7th grade?).

Anyway, I had it, but not by choice. But even though it wasn't my favorite, I still listened to it and appreciated it for what it was.

Where you in Arkansas in elementary school? We lived in North Little Rock when I was in the 6th to 8th grade, 83-85.

I got lame albums for Christmas during that time, too. Born in the USA comes to mind.

No, I've only been in Arkansas the past 9 years, about 3 hours north of where you were. I was all over the place, but I was in Illinois during those years.

I've had people literally wince when I tell them Toto is my favorite band. :help:

Amazing songs, top notch production and some sick grooves from the one and only Louis Johnson (who also laid it down on Off The Wall too)

Some trivia: MJ had to fight with Quincy Jones because Quincy thought Billie Jean wasn't strong enough to be on the album. It was also mixed 91 times before they were happy.
