Do you own Rush - Moving Pictures?

By special request, do you own Rush - Moving Pictures?

Moving Pictures. Rush's 8th studio album released in February 1981. Considered by many to be their best album, the one that opened with perhaps their best known song. I was 10 when the album came out and you absolutely could not get away from Tom Sawyer. It was everywhere!

I don't own nor have I ever owned it. I was never a big Rush guy.

Absolutely yes. I was a big Rush fan before Moving Pictures and I bought the album as soon as it came out.

I was never a big Rush guy either, or so I've kept telling myself, even as I've managed to amass 8 of their albums, including this one.

I wouldn't say it's their best album. It's a very good album, though many may debate my choice. I would pick Hemispheres first, then Moving Pictures.

I know this isn't from Moving Pictures but I've always loved this (you have to stick with it till the end!)

That would make it Rush 101, much like Legend is Bob Marley 101.

16 when it was released, yes, I got it then. Saw the tour as well.

...but I haven't owned a turntable in ~4 or 5 years, and have no plans to acquire one any time soon.

"Limelight" was really the only tune I listened to from that record anyway.

No. I was a fan up through 2112, and then Rush became a yawner for me.

It wasn't their fault... It was mine.

It's the only RUSH album I own.

It's where they hit the best blend of musicality and tunefulness.

Other than that, I'm not much of a fan and in retrospect, their stuff sounds worse to me today. But that album still holds up.

Rush is a great band, but by far not a favorite. Picked up both Hemispheres and Moving Pictures at the same time at a used CD bin for $5. each. Defninitly worth buying.

It's the only Rush that I own. Most of their other releases I have heard just don't do a lot for me. Call me odd I guess...

I'm lucky enough to have it on vinyl, sadly it is not in the best shape but I love looking at it!

In my opinion, Legend would be a poor choice of Bob Marley 101. Different topic though...

Nope. No Rush, unless "Rush" a pop song recorded by American pop rock duo Aly & AJ for their debut album Into the Rush counts! Excellent, BTW.

Yup. But I agree it's not their best.

Yes I own all the Rush releases. Spent a long time learning many of these challenging fun songs that I still like playing today.
