Do you play another instrument besides bass?

Even though I haven't touched one seriously in decades I played clarinet in school bands from first or second grade through junior college and am probably still a better clarinet player than bass player. Vocals are not really an instrument but I am currently singing bass in a church choir.

I currently "triple" on bass guitar, double bass and tuba for gigs on a regular basis. Over the years, I have also earned money at gigs on keys (including church services & weddings, organ and piano), guitars of all kinds and styles from Friday night to Sunday morning (see my wiring mods threads on the Rickenbacker site), mandolin; over the years since starting on trumpet in 5th grade, I've played every brass instrument in concert as the personnel, parts & ensembles required; and I've sung in church choir, school choir, and backup for the bands I've been in since my voice changed. One time when I had a cracked tooth I called a friend to sub on a tuba parade band gig for me, and since it was a flatbed trailer gig and no flute players showed up, I even grabbed the flute book and a glockenspiel and played the flute parts on the glock for the gig.

bass, classical guitar, electric guitar and ocarina. i'm also an acceptable portuguese guitar and mandolin player.
With a loop pedal i play bass and ocarina in the same song on a lot of songs. I also got a few gigs on classical guitar.
the other instrumentals are mainly at home. ;)

I play guitar, mando, bass and can hack a key part if you give me enough practice time. I often play multiple instruments in one night. Loopers are your best friend. I will loop a simply bass line, then switch to my guitar via an A/B box, add a layer to the loop and then can lead on top of it all.

Oh yea, I can shake an egg shaker like no ones business.

Started with the Oboe in grade school and moved to saxophone dabbled with a number of woodwinds and moved on to brass. Trumpet and coronet have been the instruments I loved to play and study for around 15 years. Also spent 4 years with a steel drum band. Left playing music for about 15 years. Once my children came to age my wife and I pulled out all of our instruments and let are kids experiment with them and now my son is an accomplished musician, my daughter the cow bell player in her high school band but is always a hit at the parties with her ukulele. One day my son asked to preform TAPS at his Boy Scout Memorial Day event. I told him I have not performed in front of a group for over 20 years but would take the challenge on. After the ceremony I was approached by someone in my neighborhood and thank me and invited me to his garage band get together and play horn. I did but felt out of character with this group. Looked over to the corner and saw and acoustic electric bass guitar and said to myself I think I can handle four strings and bought one. And now here I am at TB with 5 basses and counting. Still play the horn here and there although I don’t fit in with the acoustic garage band seen. I do continue to perform. I give my time to anyone who asks to perform TAPS for their fallen solider(s). I support (Bugles Across America).
