I play cello and guitar pretty well. I can play some drums and piano too, although my chops on those 2 are pretty feeble.

Haven't in years but did: clarinet, bass clarinet, baritone, tuba, trombone.
Decent at guitar, shaky at keys.
Love to play the drums, not that great at them though. Always wanted to be a drummer but my friends were all percussionists, picked bass to play in the band!

First band I was in, I played keys on one song, (Walk of life), plus bass. Had to switch out from bass to keys then back. Sounded weird, but it worked for us. Other than that, I tinkered around with piano, keys and guitar. Not much of a drummer, though, which I thought would be easy, considering we have to work together. Suprise!
As for home use, when I started practicing at home, I had an old 8track looper that I would record the bass line on, then play guitar over that. Sounded great to me, but I imagine it drove my neighbours nuts.
Lots of fun trying to record that onto my cassette recorder.

i played guitar for 8 years before picking up my first bass, and I also taught myself drums throughout that whole time. Since then I've come to recognize that I'm a low-ender for life!
At one point, my band had 3 of us who would rotate throughout the night on guitar, bass, and drums, with a keyboard player holding it down steady. we've since added a real drummer (wow, what a difference!), and I'm mostly handling the bass these days.

Besides bass... keyboards, guitar, mandolin, uke, fiddle, hammered dulcimer, accordion, sitar, bagpipes, etc.

I took drum lessons when I was in junior high and stopped when I got into high school. Started playing guitar when I was in my junior year of college and kept that up for a few years after I graduated. Once I started grad school I had no time to play and went 15+ years without playing much at all.
Then I started playing with another guitar playing friend about 8-10 years ago and after a couple of years of that I started playing bass since it added something new to our recordings. Once that happened, I've played bass exclusively.
My competence level on all of those is, unfortunately, about the same.

Played guitar during my teens until my early twenties. I stopped because of lack of interest. I started playing bass two years ago.
I have a midi pedal controller which I play a lot with bass, whenever it fits the song. I've always been a big fan of Taurus pedals sounds but the price was too steep for someone who just play in his living room, well at least for now. Most of the time I use Taurus sounds, different strings arrangements and others deep growling synth sounds.
I also have a 49 keys midi controller wich I use rarely (still not too prolific), because my time is limited and my focus is on bass.

Do you play another instrument in your band?
I'm wondering how it would be if I record a loop with by bass using (obviously) a looper, then I move to another instrument, like percussion...
I do not play any other instruments. That has not stopped me from including percussion into my looping pieces
Drummer. I have a looper and had the same idea as you but it hasn't worked out. I wish I didn't get the looper bug. Its seems to be a better idea for a solo guitar player gig not a bass player to do more.

I play some electric rhythm guitar; good enough for demos.
I can program keys and drums like nobody's business.
Having even a music theory education will help you tons when attempting a new instrument.
Here's a demo where I played all the instruments; my band eventually played it (with the vocals, which I knew better than to attempt), using this as a blueprint.

I like this, sounds like Geddy Lee is playing your bass. I would bet Rush would cover your song.

In addition to bass, I also play the guitar and trumpet/flugelhorn. My main music styles are R&B, Funk, Gospel, Soul and Blues.
I also studied classical piano for many years, and played the keyboards in several bands. However, due to a lack of practice and interest, my piano/keyboard skills have greatly diminished over the years. Presently, I only play the piano/keyboards when writing and recording songs in my home studio.
