I like to smell my wife when she's gotten herself fixed up to go out. I like to smell a nice dinner cooking. Not a big fan of chemical smells.

Do you sniff your tube amp?

Dude......
My Wife wears Burberry Perfume. She is the only woman on earth that I have ever smelled it on. It's like they invented it just for her - the most unique "smell" I have ever experienced.
To me, there is nothing better than coming home from a trip and smelling Svinestek cooking (she's Norwegian). It's kinda like a roast pork dinner.......Oh lord.....
Umm....Gotta run......got to go check on the Wife......
I swear my amp gets jealous if, after I've smelled her, then inadvertently get a whiff of my guitarists amp. Still, she behaves, so all's well.
I've heard of "cork sniffers" and "tube rollers", but never "tube sniffers".... although as a cork sniffing tube roller I could easily go down that path... 
I admit, I find it a comforting smell. Hot tubes and high voltage, ah, smells like home, doesn't it, Igor... well, except for the formaldehyde.

I like the smell of old music equipment in general. My bass has a magical fragrance, which I firmly believe improves my playing.
I am pretty much mental, but in almost 30 years of playing tube amps, I have never sniffed them without it smelling like smoke or burning plastic.
Mmmm.
My wife smells wonderful just the way she is. My basses smell nice.

I finally quit putting off getting my '65 Bassman head in for some long-needed maintenance. Had it since '67 and it's virtually untouched. Haven't played through it for about a year. When dusting if off caught a whiff of "the smell." At the shop one of the first things the guy did was breathe in the scent of a good old vintage tube amp. I think I was hooked by the '62 Bassman I had at age 14th. Haven't been right since. Not sure that kids today understand what that's all about. Oh, and mimeograph machines' alcohol/ink smell probably did not help test scores in my elementary and high school years. Loved that, too!
Loved the smell of mimeograph, but also how cold the paper was.
I also love the smell of asphalt. Major childhood memories for me right there!
I am amazed at how many of us are tube sniffers. The nose is still the best way to tell if something is healthy or not!

A Marshall head, vintage SuperLead or SuperBass 100 smells so good warmed up. Hopefully it's not been in a smokey environment.

Smelling is one thing you can do to diagnose an amp. Anything burnt will smell.
