Mate, let me spare you future trouble. NEVER consider more than a few songs for a first meet. You want an out, especially if there are already massive red flags such as no recordings to present to you. Also no band worth joining would welcome a bassist to audition without any proof in advance that you can actually play, and if you can prove that in advance then you needn't waste time on 20 songs just to find out you don't all "click" or that they, as is clearly the case here, can't play well enough.

Anyone with the nerve to pull that repeated cancelling #### and then ask you to learn a different 20 songs should be told loudly and clearly to go #### themselves very hard. This provides two benefits - it may teach them a valuable and necessary lesson and most importantly it will free you up for opportunities to audition for real bands who can rock real crowds.

Also be very careful about associating yourself with people who play AC/DC on guitars with pointy headstocks.

That, my friend, is serendipity.

Your subconscious might've encouraged you to make yourself miss that "audition" (who the hell cancels three rehearsals, then pits two musicians against each other in a cage fight out of the blue?) due to the squirreliness of the whole situation.

Going by some of the responses, we're evidently actually posting on a forum called JudgeBass, but whatever gets people's rocks off I guess.

Not to put too much emphasis on the point; the singer is, in my opinion, a preposterous screeching skank. After listening to about half the clip, my ears began to bleed. The music stand is at least useful in that it hides her, to a degree. The others are more or less on her level, in my opinion, because of their actions, and the sound of the clip. I think you should provide a link to this thread for the band, not to help them by offering constructive criticism, or to encourage any self evaluation on their part, but just to make them suffer humiliation, as I'm sure their audiences do, vicariously. I know they won't though. People who get up in public and perform such atrocities seldom accept that they are not the next Beatles.

I agree with the theory that you may have subconsciously taken yourself out of the running by getting stinking drunk the night before. However, getting drunk enough to make even these jerks reject you would probably be life threatening.

I question your sanity. Why do you associate with people like this?
