I finally found my sound... Don't want to mess it up with a bunch of noise that nobody really hears anyway, IMO. Plug & Play for me.

I did use a Zoom bass effects at one time. It sounded great, but was made out of plastic. Damned thing broke, so I just quit bothering with it... more crap to set up and tear down. Then again, there are times I miss the wah, or the octaver... Or the chorus.. or the fuzz... (sigh )

The B3 is a tank. I've never heard of one breaking, but I can't vouch for any of their other pedals.

Most times these days, sure. Usually just a BOSS TU-3 inline, which really doesn't count...

That said, I'm soon to use an MXR M87 compressor, up my game a bit for live tone consistency, so I'll soon drop off this, lol.

If I were in a band that the song list lent itself to plug and play, I would. Some of the songs we do would not go over or sound as well if I didn't have my pedal rig.

I don't think I have ever owned a bass pedal...maybe a chorus back in the early 90's only because I remember seeing one somewhere.

Passive bass, tube head, good cabs. Currently, I have a vintage SVT and use Aguilar cabs. (Off topic..I do love the TH500 though! Sounds really good and about 85 lbs lighter than the SVT.)

My guitar board is a tap dancing science experiment, with bass I pull the tuner off and go to the gig...I've tried using pedals down low and they just don't do a thing for me.

That's pretty much my setup, I rarely even do much amp twiddling. However, on a gig I'll usually have both my basses going into an A/B/Y switch so I can switch at will.

I used to have an overdrive pedal in there for a couple of songs, but that was a couple bands ago and I haven't used it in almost a decade.

I go through an overdrive pedal Catalinbread SFT) that's always on. But if I owned a B-15 or something like that I would just go direct.
(I guess though, at gigs where I'm using house gear I would still use my SFT.)

Yes, gig my Spector either with a V4 or shuttle 6 + 4×10 sealed cab. Good to go. Though I play with pedals on my own time for fun
