I do not understand either. I left him a comment about this. His channel is mirkocaserta. He had a previous video that I posted awhile ago, and the only way I found his new videos was that I had previously subscribed to his channel.

Well everyone, my wife surprised me with the Ibanez for xmas. It was so wonderful and the first time anyone has bought me a bass. It plays like magic, and the neck is very slim and fast. The bass is very light!! The tone is very acoustic, and has mwah for days, even in the lower quadrants. It did come with a light gauge flatwound D'addario set on it. I am not a fan of the feel of light gauge, so I swapped it out with a standard La Bella flat wound set. The strings are still settling in obviously, but it sounds better and better every day. I did put foam under the bridge for a more thuddy attack. I love this bass, and my wife!!!!
Congratulations! Wow, that is a great wife!! Glad you're enjoying your new bass, it's really well designed and as I mentioned, it makes me a better player! Looking forward to..your impressions over the next few weeks.
My new strings are still settling in, but I think it is going to rival my number one bass for the top spot. The foam made a big difference in a more upright sort of attack and release.
I've never been interested in Ibanez before (no bias just not my thing) but played a Fretless Portamento 4 in our GC when they first came out and loved it.
I would love to have a Portamento and one of these .
I almost forgot, I did buy an Ibanez Mikro for my daughter a couple years ago and I've enjoyed that little bass too.

I stuck a big piece of foam under the strings at the bridge tonight. Completely different bass! Much more like my old upright!
well bass cats I've had this bass for a month, and it continues to impress. Still using the foam under the bridge, and my La Bellas have broken in nicely, settling into more of a flat eq. I have since done some recording with this bass and found it extremely sensitive to my right hand movements. I found a little cheat with this, I increased my compression ratio and also lowered the blend setting on my compressor to 0. This gave me a nice thuddy jazz attack and feel. It really recorded well, sounding very acoustic in it's tone and timbre. I had noticed a bit of a barky tone in the low notes when I first changed my strings, but that has mellowed out nicely. I highly recommend this bass!!

I had one, didn't play it much.. My hands couldn't do the thing justice. Was my first fretless, and I think if I ever get another fretless it will be your average solid body with traditional magnetic pickups. The piezo system, as you've found really catches any string noise you make. Kind of like picking up an amplified acoustic guitar when all you've ever played is electric.
Don't get me wrong, it's a really nice and unique bass. Gain switches for each string, the body cuts are excellent. Solid. But I wasn't doing it justice and didn't play much.
This guy seems to make it work though, at some point his plucking hand is over the neck right where it meets the body and it sounds kind of like a double bass.

I've been seriously gassing for one of these in a 5er or a Portamento 5er. Just can't find one to try anywhere in NC. Was looking for an acoustic upright tone.

I have wanted this bass for a while now but man,they are hard to find in stock.I ordered one from Sweetwater and zZounds only to be emailed later that they're on backorder.
Well I found one at Sam Ash tonight and it read " in stock,ready to ship" then after my purchase I checked the listing and it read "out of stock".So I'm hoping mine was the last one as my confirmation email stated "ready to ship". I've got my fingers crossed.
I called Sam Ash to find out when I could expect my bass and the CS person said "it reads as delivered".I rushed upstairs and opened the front door and...There she was just waiting for me! NBD is the best!

I've been playing one of these for almost three years - a year with the 5-string, and two more with the 4-string - in the rhythm section with a big band. IMO you can get a "close enough" sound to an upright with the highs turned down and tapewound strings. It's less effective when you want a more "jazz bass" fretless sound, as it just won't get much bark no matter what, but that's at least partially due to the tapewounds. Overall the band and I are really happy with the sound.
Sorry for the wait, but like all good things worth it I think. As a fretless it's different as night and day from my LTD, which is also a good bass.It gives the "mawh"so easily and others have noted the upright sound too.I find it the best of both worlds in the "lined or unlined" debate as they're there if you need them but easily can be overlooked.
I highly recommend it.Now I need to practice,the rest is up to the player.
