Does anyone know of a strap shootout?

I use a 3" wide Glove Leather Strap made by Franklin Strap. It cost me about $55 USD but it was worth every penny. I have neck and back injuries so this strap is absolutely the most comfortable strap I have ever used and I have tried several before I got this one. It also controls neck dive. Definitely worth a look.

I am not a fan of leather (I like the strap to be able to breathe a little), so I'm a big fan of the Levy's cotton one in 3". It is SO soft and I never get uncomfortable wearing my 10lb+ 5 strings for a long time. Since I bought one, I haven't wanted to use anything else and just keep moving it around. Price is reasonable too.

Hell to the yes. I already have a Couch wallet and I'm trying to decide which strap is the one for me (thinking one of the vintage auto ones), the fact they're all vegan is a plus too for hippies like me. I know a few people with the racing stripe ones and all agree that they're the best quality straps they've ever used, so I think it's hard to go wrong there.

Straps and necks are so different that what works for one person may not for another. Another source to consider is Walker and Williams - padded leather straps starting under $30.

I was actually looking to buy a new strap soon. Been using NeoTech since when I first started. They're nice, but I'm ready to try something else. I also think my current strap is beginning to lose a lot of its padding, but that's okay; it has seen a lot of use.

I have a wallet and two of their straps. Grey Racer X and Cadillac Sunburst. Really like them. Great quality.
Not really concerned with the whole vegan angle but I do like supporting local shops.

Another vote for Couch Straps. I have something else on my gig bass that I'm happy enough with, but it's more for the look than comfort. The Couch strap I had was the best, IMO. Kind of thick but really comfortable.

Yeah, it's weird. With bass I've found that a strap that measures somewhere around 38-40" is right the sweet spot for me. That's what I was refering to in my earlier post regarding the Neotech strap that I have being too long. A 43" min. is just a hair too long and, if I remember correctly, the Couch straps are a min. of 44". That and they're.

I recently bought a couple of Ethos straps. They are available in 3" widths. Comfortable and look great.

My Levy straps are around my basement...somewhere.

I started with a Moody 4" - the Talkbass version. Currently permanently on loan to a friend, so looking for 2 Brookwoods to replace that one.

I recommend good quality leather and 3-4 inches wide. Super comfortable compared to those seatbelt straps.
