Does anyone make a B15 in a pedal format?

No idea if it does sound like a real B15. But I have one u can borrow to find out

I'm turned off by the use of the words "overdrive" and "tubey" in the description as if they're synonymous.

It can be, but that's not all it's capable of. But it seems that is the prevailing sentiment among people who don't use tube amps, that all they're capable of is dirt.

FWIW, most tube amps are built to distort these days. In guitars, the "clean pedal platform" tube amp is a relatively new concept. And anything that isn't 100% pristine clean is technically "dirty" anyway. That includes, compression, modulation, and anything else.

I have a Verellen meatsmoke. 400 watt custom with a second channel Watt dr405

I don't use either channel for overdrive. I'm sure they are great. But that's not what I want the tube amp for. I love the "feel" of a tube amp. The Reader saturn V feels like a tube amp as well

That's good to hear about the Verellen, DD. Always been curious about its clean performance. BTW, I think you meant Reiner Saturn V. You can feel the tubes in his VHF 700 as well.

The Meatsmoke does cleans very well.

Best tube-pre sound I've ever had was running my pf50T as a preamp into a power amp (50 watts wasn't enough for some bands at that point). The tone was sweeeeet, although clunky size-wise, and obviously not a pedal. Haven't found that sound yet with other tube or non-tube pres.

The Olympic is a cool pedal, but on the opposite end of the Ampeg spectrum: much more scooped SVT than mid pushed B15.

A big part of the B15 magic is the unusual baffled 15 cab itself, so an IR get me what I’m AFTER’s paired with my current pedal setup.

Just got the Olympic a few weeks ago, i downloaded the extra IR from Shift Line, there's a Heritage B15 in the bass package, compared it with my Ampeg B15-R and it's amazing, sounds just like it.

You do need to go thru the XLR if you want to get the IR, i've just put in a XLR-3 female to 1/4" female metal in-line adapter and plug-it to my insert return of my amp to bypass the pre-amp stage, used the gnd-lift on the Olympic and voilà ! B15 in a box

Sure. They sell their Bass IR Pack on a pay-as-you-want basis.
