Thanks for all the positive comments, I am definately looking at the feasibility of bringing a bass along with me.

Need some advice, if I keep my amp and cab, will it survive in a storage unit for a long period of time? Maybe cover it in plastic, throw some mothballs and rat poison in there? Its not like Its a vintage, high in demand rig.

If I take one bass with me and leave the other in storage, will wrapping it in plastic hurt the finish, will heat (this is a humid area in summer) and moisture warp the neck? Loosening the strings help?

Headphone amp or cube?

Maybe later when I can afford a smart phone or laptop I can get back online, bass is my real first love, thanks guys

If you need the money....and are sure you are taking a lengthy break, sell everything except your favorite bass. This forces you to learn more theory....practicing unplugged is no problem with a zingy string.

If you love things, don't sell them.....but cleaning the attic cleans the mind as well sometimes.

I was in your shoes too, and sold all of my equipment. Had to pay rent somehow! This was back in 2006/2007.

Sometimes, a break is good. It gives us time to reflect on what's important in life. Just remember, you can always rebuild, and pick it up again in the future.

My step dad drives for Crete; his Freightliner Cascade breaks down much too often.
You can fit a bass and play in a cab of an otr rig, its big inside. Hell, i take my guitar in the bus to practice on layovers. Do what they say man...

Hahahaha, 10-4! Yeah, I'm gonna keep the basses, will probably take the SX with me and get a headphone amp from GC when I get to KC. I've got a home for the other basses till I can settle back down, the rest will have to go. No climate controlled storage around the bootheel!

Anybody recommend a headphone amp or are they all the same?

I have the Rockman bass ace perfect sound wish I could get it from a live rig ha ha ha
I have tried the pocket rocket the rockman is much better imo
