Q: What's worse than a male bass player wearing shorts? No. Just no.
yes, lots of guys who have made it wear shorts. Lots of guys in surf bands, etc wear shorts.
Guys who play gigs for pay in clubs *should not*.
It's not my thing either--but so what--wear them if it makes sense to wear them.I have never worn shorts on stage, nor will I ever. Not my thing.
If it is your thing, why would you listen to the people on TB trying to tell you what to do?
Answer: Of course you wouldn't. Why would you?
So I just stumbled across this thread, and thought it might be interesting to see what people had to say on the topic and maybe offer my own opinion. And then I realized that the thread was 20 pages long. I have a personal policy: I don't offer any opinions in a thread without first reading all of the previous posts in the thread. This topic sounds kinda interesting, but not that interesting, so I'm not reading it all nor offering my own opinion.
But I do feel compelled to ask: How in the world has the topic of wearing shorts managed to generate 391 (as of last count) responses?????? I mean, wow.

Clear shorts would be a very bad idea...If you had read it, it would all be very clear![]()
Don't forget, don't wear sunglasses, don't wear Hawaiian shirts, don't use a music stand, don't go shirtless, blah, blah, blah.
That covers about 99.9% of the world's male population. Let me guess...you represent the 0.1%.If you have pale,scrawny,bow-legged, knob-kneed bird legs.
Don't.
Otherwise.
