Double Czech - Jolana DiscoBass & Kolorbass -

The art Kolorbas is most likely sitting on a container ship somewhere in CA. (LA or Oakland) If you're aware of the current US trucking issue - it's related to that. So who knows when it will show up, now over two months since purchasing. 'When it does' is the answer.

Wow. I thought sure it would go by air. Can still be a long process as international air mail often sits a long time waiting for space on commercial flights (and can repeat the process if transiting third countries on the way).

I actually don't know and just thought it's possible it's on a stalled ship, but either way it's taking a very long time. Just hope I arrives undamaged.

I paid $80 for shipping - that is around the cost of shipping a bass (UPS) in a case across the US, sometimes more, sometimes less depending on how far it's going. Point being $80 is pretty cheap being shipped from so far away. Once it's here it may be clear how it was shipped based on the label information.

I send and receive a lot of international mail. Very little mail goes by sea for the international portion of the trip these days - aside from freight forwarders. The biggest upset to much mail is that a lot of it goes on available space on commercial flights and there are still less flights than pre pandemic.

However, I'm assuming that the sender sent it Russian post. Perhaps he tried to save some money and used a forwarder.
I know Simon Padalka sends guitars and basses from Russia regularly (via regular post) and pre pandemic it was about $80 and usually took about a week to the US. At least US customs are fast. Having stuff come the other direction I've often had packages sit longer in customs than it took for them to make it half way around the world.
