Double discount at Guitar Center

Using only 3 coupons, I got about a 45% discount on something that probably had >60% markup, so I don't feel the least bit bad. In fact I feel great about it. If I had gotten something for significantly less than it had actually cost the seller, then yeah I might feel a bit different. But I'm not judging those who did.
Theres no reason for a poll. If someone feels the need to express their ethical opinion they can take it somewhere else imo. Jealousy is a bitch, and we dont need to deal with it here.
Actually, I feel much better buying a classic sr5 for 700 bucks than buying it for 1.9k.. Doesn't hurt my wallet even my conscience.. I'm just not a dramatic trolls that would even care if a kid in the street got tripped accidentally.. That's just my opinion..
I don't necessarily think that this was unethical, but I also think people are welcomed to voice their opinions on it all, it's just a message board.
I'm the one that discovered the other 5 coupons and posted it here. My conscience prevented me from exploiting it myself, but I gotta smile that so many others were able to stick it to the evil mega-corp, and come away with some sweet gear that will be put to good use. That bug would've been the first thing a good software engineer would've tested for. There's no excuse for leaving that loophole open.
I honestly want to know how much everyone saved because that means how much guitar center lost , its funny to me but impossible to figure out because I bet other people bought gear and never posted in this thread. I really hate guitar center , they have put many local guitar stores out of business for decades. Even where I live 40 miles from a guitar center, it still effects local music stores. I am friends with many people working at them and they cant compete with all these sales GC offers.

I buy a majority of my gear used or if I do buy new, I hunt online for coupon codes or price match. The "game" of gear pricing is stupid. I really hate that "too low to print" crap! It was said before in this thread "Why should I feel bad saving 45% on something that is marked up 65%" The answer is you shouldn't!
No one is going hungry because of this, maybe a few of you guys who splurged on savings are eating Ramen Noodles this week haha, but don't sweat it. Guitar Center was too lazy to watch their back. No one "stole" anything, Guitar Center accepted your offers. They could have safeguarded the problem.

I don't believe in MSRP prices. I think they are a mere BS to create a consuming behavior and just a way to configure an idea of "discount" whereas the "discounted" price is actually the full price you are paying.
It's even funnier when you're buying a new car, no one will go near the "invoice price" when negotiating, but you find one car in the country on sale at another dealership for below invoice and go back to the same place and they'll match it and sell it to you that day.
Yep, it's sales tactics to make you feel like you're getting a deal. Like when they put "free gift!", or "new!" on something to attract people's attention. People love to feel like they're getting something for nothing, or for a better deal than someone else. MSRP on cars is just that, a "suggested retail price." Invoice price is the same way.

im so pissed i missed out on this... people can say karma all they want... but i feel i got ripped off left and right when i first started playing bass that any deals i can get now from GC i'll gladly take lol
So here's my story:
I ordered some Tascam studio monitors that were priced at $299 with the 2 20% discounts bringing my total to appox. $179. I didn't realize they were back-ordered until after the fact so of course I got a call from a GC rep the next day. He apologizes for the error with the multiple discounts and says he can offer me the same monitors for $232 or something like that.
Well at this point I knew they were back-ordered so I asked if I could get the M-Audio BX5a Deluxe monitors (which were my first choice, but not included in the promotion) instead. He says yeah, and he'll see what price he can do for me. I'm on hold for about 30 seconds and he comes back with a price of $138. I confirm with him that we're talking about the same monitors just to make sure and he says yeah, he's got a little more wiggle room with those.
So the moral of the story is: if you try to get 40% off with a loop hole, you end up with 55% off!
