Double Jazz Bass Pickups

Is it Possible to make a double J Pick up with 2 Jazz pickups?

like 2 neck pickups wound or stuck together?

Old thread but I think it's possible and I'm starting a project for a friend who wants them for neck and bridge. The coils would have to be RWRP to each other. What I'm wondering is how hot they would be as humbuckers and do I under wind the coils a bit because of that possibility.

I intend to install a pair of Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound SJB-3 Pickups to replace the stock neck Pickups oF my Fender Blacktop Precision

You can just get two of the same pickup and use neodymium magnets to reverse the polarity of the poles on one of the pickups. Then they would hum cancel.

I had to do this to a P bass pickup to get it to work with a quad bartolini.

Many pickup makers will be happy to wind you a set the way you want, including big companies like Seymour Duncan.

A few years later but what I ended up doing was making my own. I wound 2 J bass coils and wired them like a humbucker. The covers were an issue so I cut out one side of the covers and glued them together. They work great and I was able to split them plus wire them for series and parallel.
