douchey-ist bass face?

Dartanyan Brown, Pete Cetera and Greg Lake were all endorsing Rippers around the same time as Gibson was on a mission...

A doomed mission as it turns out.

And who is this guy anyway?

I wondered the first time I saw that as a full page ad in GP way back in the mists of time. And I’m still clueless about who that is to this very day.

Begs the old Esquire Magazine lead in question: “Why is this man laughing?”

Minor historical note: the Ripper in that ad had to be a prototype. The actual Ripper had a totally different looking set of pickups (no mounting rings or metal covers) and a differently shaped pickguard.

That's not Dartanyan Brown. Dartanyan Brown is black!
sure isn't...thanks for correction. I made an assumption based on this:

Just by association....name next to picture...I won't do that again!
But on a side note Dartanyan Brown did play a Ripper :-)
So, who is this guy? Is the Ripper that good it makes him smile? Is this guy really from the 70's porn casting call down the hall or the Three Musketeers casting call like previously commented?????

Yes, he did. (Although I admit I had to look him up.)

I dunno who this dude is--probably a model, believe it or not. Not a pretty one...

We were playing on one of the nicest stages so the guitarist's wife wanted to get lots of pictures. She's a professional videographer so she had an excuse. But I was getting annoyed with her distracting me so i made a douchey bass face to try to ruin her picture.

Naturally, they all loved it and wanted that to be my official publicity photo.
