Double Bass DPA 4060-BM and Phantom power & AI Focus

Hi all,
This is my first post here.
I started playing DB again after a long stint on BG.

My question has to do with microphones for bass and the Acoustic Image Focus III.

I apologize in advance for going over territory that has probably been covered at length before, but...

I'm moving to non-metallic strings to get a more traditional sound. (we are finnally putting together the trio I always wanted to play in, a late 50's early 60's Jimmy Giuffre-ish, Lucky Thompson-ish Bass, guitar, reeds trio) The amp I was using for BG, SWR Intersteller Overdrive, QSC amp w/ 2x 4-10 edens just did'nt seem appropriate. So I got the AI Focus and am looking at cabs now.

But I digress... I was looking at the DPA 4060-BM to plug in one channel and a piezo for the other channel. The DPA runs on 48v phantom power but the AI specs say it delivers 38v phantom power. Is this difference a big thing or a non-issue. I know absolutly nothing about sound reenforcement stuff. The price seems right though, and they said they would ship one out to me to trial for $25, to return if I did not like it.

Have to check with DPA or just give it a try. I have some mics that will work on lower voltage and some that will not. I use a Solstice blender which only produces around 18v. Lately, I've been using dynamics so it's a non-issue.

Having tried the Countryman, Crown and DPA mini mics, I've found a good dynamic mic, such as a Shure Beta 56 or Beta 57, works much better for this application with less hassle, doesn't require phantom power and is cheaper too.
