Here's a couple pics of my new Dr. Bass rig. They are both "Neo" loaded and I requested a 15" depth BL1580 instead of the 17.5" depth.
The tone of the cabs has been described in a couple other threads but here's a quick summary:
1580 - Big, VERY powerful but tight low end. The big 3015LF really moves some air and chuckles at a low B. The 8" midrange driver sounds very much like a 10". It is smooth, punchy and very clear. Very nice tweeter, crisp but not harsh. Very loud cab too.
1260 - Nice lows, not quite as big as the 15" as one would expect but still strong. Low B, no problem. This cab is all about midrange punch. Really strong mids that sound fantastic with fretless. The 6" driver is a little more crisp and percussive than the 8". Great slap tone! Same tweeter. Great volume out of this cab too, probably due to the strong midrange tone.
The combination of the two is really something! I can't imagine needing a bigger or louder rig. All right....I can imagine it, but I certainly can't see me needing it.
Build quality is fantastic and like most cabs with a sprayed on type hard finish, they seem very durable. The dual attenuators on each cab are great for dialing in or out the mid drivers and tweeters. The set up is very versatile and I've been able to dial in a few different tones using just the attenuators.
