So what seems to be the general consensus? These don't seem to be the game changers that DR hoped they would be. It looks like neither hibeam nor sunbeam users are blown away and converting.

DR Pure Blues Bass Strings...

I just put them on my Precision and they suit that bass better than the Hi Beams or the Cobalts I had on there. Nice balanced tone plus they feel good to me. Now I just want to see how long they last.
I just bought a 45-105 set of these for my Fender J, I'm going to put them on tonight and give them a workout over the next week so that "new string sheen" will hopefully be worn off and I'll get to the actual sound of the string before next week's fundraiser gig. I'll report back with results...
I am completely sold on these. I like them better than DR Hi Beams.
I absolutely love them. Better than Sunbeams on my J/MM Kinal. I still would use Sunbeams on my P/J bass, but it's wearing flatwound strings at the moment. If you like the sound of Fat Beams but the feel of Sunbeams these are for you.

I have an obsession for wood. The musical kind.
I have them on my tobacco-burst Roscoe, and they play and sound wonderful...very surprised, having used Elixir almost religiously for how long. The feel is impeccable, as they're certainly more flexible than Elixir, but of course they're not going to last as long!

But, you can get 2-3 sets of SuperBrights for the price of ONE set of Elixers, so it evens out!

Yep, would you believe that one set of Elixir, playing around 150 shows a year, can last me about that whole time?
That's awesome! Elixirs usually last me about 2 months before the coating is completely gone

Don't take this the wrong way, Captain, but if DR's customers didn't convert but still but DR products, I don't think DR's gonna mind. As long as they don't jump ship. I'm eagerly waiting on my set of Pure Blues to arrive so I can give them a go. This has really made me realize that in 20 years I've only bought Fender/D'Addario strings, with the exception of twice. Once I bought a set of Trace Elliot Doug Wimbish signatures (which sucked) and GHS Bass Boomers (which I just didn't really care for). I guess every time I buy strings I'm afraid of wasting money on something I'm gonna hate so I just buy the same ol' same ol'.

I'm more of a nickel player and have been quite satisfied with Sunbeams on my Roscoe and Valenti PJ5 but I have a bass with a bit darker tone which I think could benefit from the voicing of these Pure Blues - just ordered a 5-string set.
