DSMnoisemaker & Humboldt Electronics Simplifier Bass Station

@Dsmnoisemaker
It is possible to use the cabsim only and bypass the preamp on the simplifier? I'd like to use my preamp with a onicabsim deluxe, but those are hard to find. I'd love if you bring back a few reisues to the market.
well, you can enter from the return jack, that will only go to the cabsim section..or set the preamp EQ flat.

The Simplifier sounds amazing on my mini board that it's also my practice board...

Are any of you folks using the fx loops, in not sure what type of effects would work best. Those with or without our dry signal blend, do you put compressors in the parallel effect loop? Fuzz in the pre amp loop? How do blend them given there's a dip in volume when your mix evenly between parallel and preamp loops. Also what's the advantage. In know it's a great option. Would be great if DSM out together a demo video going over this process. Even though it's great product there really seems to be no support for it.

My apologies for the typos...

hi there!
About using both FX loop, we think is nice to have a comp on the parallel with the LPF activated, so you get full dynamics on the high end and compressed low end. All sorts of crazy stuff can be configured and we encourage creativity on our users so they can create new tones.
If you get a dip in volume when blending both loops is because there is a phase inversion on one of the pedals used. Use the phase inverting switch on the side of the bass station if this happens.

Thanks for the advice! Yes the simplifier is just great when combining the lpf and the preamp. Im getting the drop in volume with no pedals in the loops. question? does a dry blend help at all when a pedal is used in a loop?

Struggling with the bass station. I want to utilize the parallel channel with the filter to provide clean low end to mix with the preamp channel.
The issue is when I set the preamp with a bit of grit and eq it is much hotter than the dry parallel side. The wiring diagram makes this clear. Lowering the volume on the preamp allows a blend with the dry side but since I want more dry than preamp, the output level is very low.
This isn’t an issue running into the instrument input on a bass amp, since I can make up that gain with the amp preamp, but the DI signal seems anemic (tested by running into an 800W bass amp, where the DI bypasses everything but the power stage level).

I like the driven character of the preamp but I need a lot of clean low end to mix in and so the only solution I can come up with is to run a boost in the parallel effects loop. Seems like a make up gain on the parallel side would have helped (where they would fit it I have no idea).

am I missing something? Any advice.

Doesnt balancing the parallel/,pre amp blend work in the manner?

Using the blend knob at 09:00 I can get the right mix, but then the overall output is low. I guess that’s wat they mean by zero watt. Going into an amp it’s no problem because the amp preamp can provide the extra gain, but if I want to direct out or bypass the amp preamp the signal is low. Same for the DI out.

My current solution is to put a boost in the parallel loop which works. Could put a boost after but then I can’t use the DI.

As it was explained to be by someone at DSM the crossover is to blame for that dip in volume and can't really be avoided I think your solution is really the only work around if you love your bass at that setting.

Now that you say it it makes perfect sense that the filter causes the apparent drop. It’s a bit frustrating I have to use a boost to make this work out. Some built in make up gain on the parallel side and this thing would be just perfect by itself.

I agree but it's a small work around and the only pre amp I know of it's type and the cab sims are wonderful.
