DSMnoisemaker & Humboldt Electronics Simplifier Bass Station

So my chain is presently complete - with DSM Simplifier Bass station being the heart of it.

The portable pedal board currently sits as -
NUX b-8 wireless -> Line 6 Pod express Bass (as multi effects) -> DSM Simplifier Input -> RME babyface pro FS via xlr
This is all being powered by a Cioks DC 7

I do not use the amp/cab sim on Pod Express - as I find the simplifier easier to dial in regards to the sounds I prefer.

This covers for me daily practice/playing
My next step is to try & use the FX loop feature of the DSM with the Pod Express to see what it does.

Thanks to all who chimed in.

Hi a quick question - I just ordered a mini looper pedal, just to practice with.

Now considering my chain above
B-8 Wireless -> Multieffect -> DSM (for Di)

If I want the DSM's DI functionality but also want the looper to be after the DSM preamp/cab, will it be better if I
put the looper in the preamp FX loop of the DSM - so it is looping the sound post the DSM preamp/cab?

I do not have the looper at hand yet, so can't test for myself, wanted your opinion so I can ordered the right cables too.

Thanks!

That should work so long as you aren’t using the parallel side or don’t need the effect on the parallel side.

Just stumbled upon this

I've been looking for a multi function DI for my Zoom MS-60B+ bass preamps.

can the Zoom patch into the preamp loop with the simplifier preamp off and cabsim on?

no 3rd party IR support, I assume
The Simplifier doesn’t load IRs. The cabsim is analog modeled with knobs to adjust.

It’s a good DI.

The simplifier is “always on” so while you can set features like the cabsim to zero, there’s no switch to turn off the preamp. You can however use the zoom in the parallel loop and dial the preamp/parallel balance all the way to parallel. Then you’ll have a clean DI channel after the zoom that will let you dial whatever cabinet parameters you like and how much.

I like the preamp in the simplifier also. Lots of options.

Adding a simplifier to that zoom should work well.
