Dual mono w/ two input amp needed

I run electric bass and Moog Little Phatty into a TC RH 450 / G-B212 neox and want to simplify things a bit. What dedicated inputs dual channel amps are out there that are not pro level expense; so far most of what I find on search is the switchable channel approach.

Right now i'm running both into a Lehle A-B box but it's powered so another cord on the floor so my wireless transmitter down at my feet also all of which takes extra set up minutes.

I'd like to just run outputs to inputs and be done with it as well as being able to reach over and hit a synth note now and then so seems dual input dual channel is easiest way to do it. Which heads should I be looking at ?

thanks

I would think the Acoustic Image head would do the trick. Powerful, small, two channels/two inputs, effects for the synth if you need reverb or whatever, and a nice, warm, even tone.

EA makes a 'doubler' amp that is also two complete channels, and is VERY small and lightweight, but it does not wump like the Acoustic Image Clarus.

Of course, there is the Walter Woods ... super expensive (at close to $3,000 now).

All three of these heads are designed for EB/DB doublers, but would most likely work great. For the dollar/wump/weight criteria, the Acoustic Image hands down.

Edit: Ooops... just saw you were on a budget. A used Acoustic Image is still your best bet IMO.

Thanks,

those are the same amps I've been able to find to date - certainly pass on the Walter Woods on service alone.

My concern with Doubler was output levels based on some reviewers here.

THe AI looked promising but it was at that point, after a lot of time on the internet, that I thought I may still be missing some.
I'll look into the Clarus further.

Another possible option is the Markbass LMTube. Very nice sounding amp, and the LMTube version of the venerable LMIII has a separate volume control on the second combo jack input.

So, the channels share EQ, but have adjustable input gain. With one of those $100 off Guitar Center specials they run quite often, it is relatively affordable.

Nice and warm, but still nice and clean and transparent. The tube versus solid state drive control doesn't do a lot to my ear, but the amp sounds very nice, quite reliable and a pretty good deal.

thanks Ken - the proverbial fountain of knowledge that you are - will check it out.

The only two things a bit strange about the LMTube (IMO):

a) Brown and yellow. I'm a fan of the Markbass look in general (the black and yellow), but the brown and yellow (lots of yellow knobs) of the LMTube and LM800Tube.... kind of yuck to me.

b) There isn't much 'tube' in the LMTube. Still sounds great, but they use some sort of soldered in mini tube that drives the 'tube drive' control. Very subtle impact. So, quite frankly, the biggest difference between the LMIII and the LMTube IMO is the separate gain control (which you would need) and the switchable phantom power (for powering a DB mic) on the LMTube.

Minor stuff, but there it is!
