dUg Ultra Bass 1000 - Tech 21

I expect this amp and a Spector bass are going to sound fantastic together.

I even have a Spector 8 string (euro line prototype), so can't wait to plug that into this amp!

I saw them when they toured together and Dug told me the bass tech was about to pull his hair out changing and tuning the 12ers that Monty Colvin and Dug were carrying on the tour.He was laughing about it he said "Man 7 12 strings and various 4s,I would of quit by now". Great guys and incredible bands.

This is me with the Dug1000 serial # "dUg" from a tour stop several weeks ago.
It KILLS. SSSSSSSSSSSSSickssssssssweeeet tone that is immediately identifiable as Dug's own.

dug1000 live!

i just saw king's x in massachusetts and new jersey. 8-D

dUg is indeed playing the new head. he's got two of them in a rack, as well as an SVT 4 pro, but he was only playing through one dUg amp - the second one and the ampeg weren't even plugged in:

at the start of the mini-tour (it was only 3 nights), he was playing through a pair of SVT 8x10 cabs - you can see the edge of one in the photo above, taken in arlington, MA. BUT! at the end, in newton, NJ, he was running through four brand spanking new tech21 4x10 cabs, complete with his initials!

interesting!

the tone was great, exactly the identifiable dUg tone that we all know and love. he played it in both modes: clean+dirty, and clean channel only. both sounded great. the only thing i didn't get a sense of was how loud the thing will go; the band was playing at very reasonable volumes (!). i didn't notice a significant difference between the cabinets but, of course, it's hard to tell under the circumstances.

at any rate, the bottom line for me is that the amp sounds great and i'll almost certainly be buying one or two when they finally do come out.

best to the thread readers, and long live king's x!
